I've been water skiing since I was a kid so I've tried numerous vests that may look really cool, but they are uncomfortable, hot, and worst of all interfere with your mobility. Now I'm a paddler (kayak) and I'm wishing I had something like this vest back in my water skiing days. Cool in every since of the word. I'm a 40 chest size and large was perfect for me so pay attention to the sizes and remember that they lean towards the lower end of the range.

I recently purchased the Stearns Extreme for canoeing/kayaking. For the past 15 years, I have been in the habit of sitting on my PFD because it was so cumbersome while paddling. Now, with children in the boat, I feel a greater sense of responsibility and thus the need to wear a PFD. This fits with no restriction whatsoever. The pockets are a bonus, and the way the padding sits on the lower back it actually makes my chair more comfortable.
