5.0 out of 5 stars so far so good, November 13, 2008

This review is from: Stearns Spree Two-Person Inflatable Kayak (Sports)
We bought the kayak to help with overcrowding in our canoe. We tend to stay in the calmer rivers and creeks so were not really worried about rapids or anything (although we may try it one day). We took it out for the first time last weekend and it did great. It was very comfortable, easy to row, and cut through the water easily. It had great stability on the water and we never felt like we were going to tip over. It was also very easy to inflate/deflate. It took no time to put back in the carrying bag. We did take it out again when we got home and reinflated to wash out and clean, then just let it dry overnight and put back in the bag. Overall, so far, we are very pleased. The only thing that may be a set back for someone, is if they have long legs and are wanting someone in the kayak with them. May be a tight fit.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Value, June 29, 2009
This review is from: Stearns Spree Two-Person Inflatable Kayak (Sports)
The Stearns Spree 2 Kayak is great for paddling in calm waters. I previously owned the Stearns Spree (one seater) but decided to upgrade since I use the kayak for fishing and needed the extra room for gear and fish. The only drawbacks is that it feels a bit awkward if you're on the Kayak by yourself. If you sit in the front the bow is a bit low and if you sit in the back the stearn is a low. Also if you sit in the front and lean back in the chair the zipper of the mesh compartment behind you gets undone. Another draw back are the flimsy fins that must be manually attached on the bottom of the Kayak. Why could Stearns not make fins like they had on the Spree One? Anyway, be careful with the fins because they look delicate and can bend easily. Would also be nice if there were some straps along the side of the Kayak to attach gear too.

Overall, I am satisfied with the product and the amount that I paid for it. I'll give a more detailed review after I've used it a couple of more times.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kayak as expected plus a bit, June 2, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The Kayak looks and feels just like what I had expected from the write-up. Overall it was easy to use and stable and that is important since my wife and I are over sixty and NOT experienced kayakers. It had some undocumented features and extra parts that are probably useful including (I think)a paddle carrying strap and two keel pieces. We'll figure them out eventually.
It would be helpful to explain that 1) a paddle IS REQUIRED, 2) that two people should not imply two paddles unless the two are very experienced 3)that inflation level is difficult to gauge (verb) and THEN provide some direction about finding a gauge (noun) that can work in the 0-2 psi range and interface with the inflation system.
