I actually ordered three of these: one for an adult male, one for an adult female, and one for a 12 year old--all in "universal" adult size. For me (adult male at 5'11", 190 pounds, 34" waist) this was quite uncomfortable even when adjusted to the loosest setting. Additionally, it rode up mercilessly in the back of my neck as I was kayaking. I have no way yet of judging its effectiveness as a floatation device. On an adult female (135#) it was reportedly no better. My 12 year old thought it was tolerable. I am wishing I had either ordered a higher priced item or just gotten one I could have tried on at the local EMS or LLBean.

You get what you pay for. It is comfortable enough and does everything it is supposed to. Looks pretty good and is very adjustable. I would buy again.

A nice looking and well made life jacket. Uncomfortable to wear as very stiff but I believe this is normal for low cost life jackets.

This life jacket is very useful for water sports. I would like to have known the length of the vest before purchasing this item. The vest is too short if you are looking for a full length vest, but it is sturdy and easily adjustable. The sides are opened, not closed as it appears in the photo with sturdy adjustable straps. If the vest were longer, your arms and elbows will be restricted. I feel that this vest is better suited for a person not taller than 5'7" and weights between 125-170 lbs. The price is excellent for the quality.
