The most useful books for medical transcriptionists,
By Wendy Hunter (in my room) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Stedman's Gi & Gu Words: Including Nephrology (Stedman's Word Book Series) (Paperback)
The Stedman's word book series serves as the single most useful tool to a working medical transcriptionist. Each book in the series contains the most up-to-date terminology (for the edition) of the medical specialty, whether frequently or infrequently encountered. The organization of the contents is logical; i.e., the heading 'sutures' containes a list of most suture material commonly used in the given medical specialty. The books are also necessary to students of the field as well as other health professionals. As a working transcriptionist for a multi-specialty clinic, I rely on the Stedman's series daily to assist me in my work. I was sorry to discover that the GI/GU edition is out of print, as it contains terminology, such as names of endoscopy cameras/videoscopes, that is not found in many other references. I hope Amazon can find one for me! |
