My review is not based on a comparison of other medical dictionaries. With that in mind, this particular dictionary (book) is easy to read, has good illustrations, and about 30 pages of excellent human anatomy diagrams in the middle of the book. The CD is, as stated, a bonus; have not found a need to use it, but good to have. What I do not like about this "book," is that it was printed as a short, thick book. It would have been better to have a wider/thinner book, rather than a short/thick book; the illustrations wouldn't be so small otherwise. Finally, I like that the dictionary has ABC tabs to make finding a word quick and easy.

Stedman's Medical Dictionary is filled with 1696 pages of concise definitions and wonderful color pictures and graphs. It also contains an extra 589 pages of Appendices: Units of Measure, Affixes, Abbreviations, and Symbols; Physical Terminology; Infection Control; Reference Values; Body Mass and Surface Calculations; Assessment and Care; Drug Information; Diet and Nutrition; Professional Information. It also contains a CD-ROM with Audio Pronunciations for more than 48,000 terms; Anatomical animations; and a Medical/Pharmaceutical Spellchecker. Any person in the medical field would be well armed with this excellent, informative book. The price is very low for the amount of information contained.

this book has helped me a tremendous amount. i am in nursing school and although this book is thick, i carry it onto the floor with me and refer to it regularly! good info, with medical Dx and nursing Dx, easy to use too.

I am a pre-med student and use this dictionary at least 20 times a day. It is an awesome reference tool! If you are in the medical profession, you will benefit greatly from this item.

it is a good medical dictionary. It has all updated terms that are helpful to your medical field, especially for those who work in hospital settings.

I am taking a course in medical terminology and find this book to be an excellent resource. It is affordable. I know I will refer to this book very often.

This book is much easier to read than the traditional Tabers for those of us with bifocals. Great reference for anyone in the medical arena, down to the beginning biller.

I received my book in a timely manner just like it was promised. I'm am quite happy with my purchase. It will be a valuable tool for my studies in college where I use medical terms and anatomy. I order this because I was interesting in medical transcription. The CD prononces the word very clearly for you to understand. I am pleased with the book and CD.
