I learned quite a bit about the details of Panzer warfare from this book. Although I have read many accounts of WWII, this author gave a different perspective, including an appreciation of anti-tank actions. I gambled little on buying it, as it was so inexpensive. It is worth quite a bit more. That said, as usual, the Kindle maps are useless.

Not a bad overall chronoligical history of tank warfare about the German army of World War II. I am not a historian nor a academic of war history, so this read a little dry for my tastes. It still paints an excellent picture about how the blitzkrieg tactics were implemented with Germany's tank armor. My biggest gripe is that this was a kindle purchased book and the maps when expanded were blurry and unreadable. Which can make some battles hard to follow if the map is to blurry to read. I wish amazon would would fix this issue.

This is really a great deal for less than a dollar. After seeing the sample I though it was worth trying it. This book is not very long and is very interesting. The author writes the story of the panzer armies, their triumphs and defeat, it is also quite informative about the panzer tactics, campaigns and so on. The main character here is Heinz Guderian. I liked very much the brief discussion on the tank warfare in WWI.

There are a couple reviews for the book over there.

It's actually a very well formatted book, not too wordy and with some very well made maps. This title is much cheaper than the other. I am positive the content of both paperback versions are the same.

Great to read about the background of the tank and how it was deployed in batter. Very interesting read and a bargain at that price. Well done.

Cawthorne's method is to read a score of books on the subject and then dash out a book, citing no references, but generally conforming to proper Western standards of truthfulness. the result is a 1.99 book that is worth the price, but cannot be compared to the professional work done by historians or even graduate students.

As a former marine Corp armoured crewman this book was more than interesting. It is a great read for any one into tank warfare and a must for history buffs. It is very informative on the different tanks used by the Germans in world war 2.

Very focussed on German tank production, tactics and commanders but nevertheless brings some interesting insight into how tanks made such an impact at the start of WWII and then were sidelined by countermeasures.

Cawthorne's style is easy to read, enjoyable. It is like having the story read from an Audible audio-book. I certainly enjoyed the lecture.
I have rated it with only 3 stars because the phrases are sometimes slopy, as if the author would write in a hurry.
He does not indicate sources, there are no notes attached. Sometimes I felt that important facts are not considered. For example, he tells the story of the Romanian Army turning the weapons against the Germans, but he does not explain why: the Romanian leader, Marchall Antonescu has been arrested by the King on 23rd of August 1944 and the German army attacked Bucharest. I felt there are other similar situations not mentioned, like this one.
