Get into the world of SLAI,

When I first started playing this game I had few, to no idea how the story mode played. I was expecting a mech game where a player customized a fighter selecting diffrent parts, ect. Not too deep. With a friendly Online mode. Wow, was I wrong.
The game itself is actually WAY bigger then I thought. Notice the 50+ hour story mode feature. They are not lying. The story mode takes the player into an 'online world' filled with servers, users, and channels (ala, Dot Hack series) All simulating an online experence -- offline. You first create a username, then enter a server and start from there. Before you start destroying those evil mech enemies, you must get your Licence. You need to take a test. When you pass, you are able to purchace a mech and from there you need to win battles to gain cyro (money/gold) to buy the individual parts. You compete amongs other users (all offline) in battles that take place around the world; Hong Kong, London, Tokyo, Cairo, and New York. Besides story mode, Versus Mode allows players to use there fully-customized mecha's in battle. Or they are allowed to chose already made mechs. Quick Battle mode lets players fight without gaining cyros. Besides the offline 'online' story mode, SLAI also features an ACTUAL Online mode. Take your saved mech and battle users using your PS2 Online Broadband Adapter. Steel Lancer Arena International is an great title with many features that allow players numerous of fun hours of gaming. Not to mention, a GREAT soundtrack that includes popular hits from around the world! Graphics: 3/5 Gameplay: 4/5 Sound: 5/5 Replay: 4/5 Overall: 5/5

This game is absolutly awesome. The graphics, sound, and customisation is just okay, but this game makes up for it in personality and gameplay. I own and I love it!

This Game is the PS2 sequel to the Xbox's Phantom Crash. I love both Mostly because these are seriouly involving and fun games.
SLAI offers mech fighting, arcade style with vast customization possibilities... And I mean VAAAAAAST. The difficulty curve in the beginning is a bit high but as you learn a few tips-n-tricks of the game, the fun involvement really keeps you playing and thinking... Even if you were to beat every stage and challenge alone it takes more than 50+ hrs. Right now I am at 209hrs since the beginning of summer but it is all fun hrs of play! The options and Stat ability growth would suck you back in! Online play is an absolute Blast! Destroyed? respawn and get your revenge and the most rivals shot destroyed by timer end. Sadly. Konami is going to shut down the online server for this game on 10/01/2006 I believe it is mostly because this game is so good and no one knowa about it.... :( Even so I still Highly reccommend this game.
