5.0 out of 5 stars A must for militaria and helmet collectors!!!, January 28, 1998
This review is from: Steel Pots : The History of America's Steel Combat Helmets, Volume 1 (Hardcover)
This book fills a long negleted but important subject for militaria collectors. "Steel Pots" provides the militaria collector with essential information on the different models (and their variants) of U.S. helmets and associated accessories (nets, covers, etc.) from WWI to present. The book will join Baer's "The History of the German Steel Helmet: 1916-1945" and Lewis' "Doughboy to GI: U.S. Army Clothing and Equipment 1900-1945" as a must have reference for all collectors of helmets and body armor.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for any militaria collector!!!!!!, December 7, 1998

I just want to say that this book is the book on U.S. helmets! You can't improve this book! Even if you own a couple helmets and don't really collect U.S. helmets I would still suggest that you get this book as it is very interesting, plus when you pick up a U.S. helmet you will know what your looking at. My copy never collects dust! I use it all the time for reference. I can't wait to get the second volume that he's working on!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Steel Pots : The History of America's Steel Combat Helmets, Volume 1 (Hardcover)
The book has a lot of interesting information and is certainly entertaining but it didn't have specific information concerning chin straps that I was looking for. I would say it's on a par with Reynosa's books. I was hoping for something a little more authoritative.
