We were looking for a stand that would fit in our son's room and not take up all the space in his room. We live in an apartment so we don't have much space. This stand fits perfectly in the corner of his room and he LOVES sitting in his hammock chair and swinging as he reads and does his homework. He has autism so we were looking for a product that would give him the sensory input he needs and this does it along with the hammock chair we also purchased from Amazon.com.

This is a Very Heavy Duty Stand!
For those concerned with just hanging around...it's perfect! Although I suggest you NOT order a Hammock Spring as I did! The Spring will cause the Hammock Chair to hang too low and cause you to drag your backside on the ground! So no spring! Great Stand! I adore it! Works well with no creaky sounds and the finish looks good for those concerned with weather or salt protection.

This stand is nice but...
1)I wish it was just a tad taller. About 4-6 inches added to the height would make my chir not sit quite so close to the bottom of the stand. I does work, though. (My chair was a gift from my mother-in-law from her trip to Honduras and is really nice.) 2)Wish it came in more than one finish - but it can be painted. I am considering using a Rustoleum Paint for outdoors in a bronze-like finish. The black looks good - for black, but I would like to soften it a bit. The stand is heavy, but I was able to put it together w/o my hubby's assistance (he was out of town and I couldn't wait). Have only had it a few weeks, but it is in the weather (though partially under a tree) so we will see how it holds up. This was the best price I found - even with expensive shipping. But I haven't seen many in person, so I really don't have a lot to compare it to.
