Customer Questions & Answers

The mouse fits snugly into my hand that's slightly smaller than average.
Ross
My only cons for the mouse are that the software is not included -- I suppose you should download latest drivers anyway -- and that it does not have any side buttons.
Denise Crawford
I'd recommend it to anyone after a sleek basic gaming mouse that feels great and performs well.

I am not a gamer, but I am a programmer. I rely on a good computer mouse and keyboard to make my living. So when I got the opportunity to get this mouse, I jumped on it. I do have a SteelSeries keyboard for the clickiness, like old IBM keyboards.

Anyway, this is a very comfortable mouse. It seems a bit lower than I am used to (meaning it doesn't arch my hand as much; my palm is flatter and closer to the desk).

I have a wireless Microsoft Mouse as my daily driver. I don't think this mouse will replace my wireless mouse anytime soon though. That, in no way, means this is a bad mouse. It is a great mouse. In fact, since this mouse is designed for gamers, it probably has more precise optical tracking than my Microsoft Mouse. This SteelSeries feels solid and I can tell it will stand up to day to day use. The cord is made of a nylon material, which is a seemingly unique feature among mice. It doesn't seem like it will ever tangle up.

So here's the deal: This is a great uniformly shaped mouse, with no crazy indentations or carved out areas. It is a "no fuss" design...clean and neat. For me though, I prefer a wireless mouse. This is not a flaw of this mouse, as I presume gamers need a wired mouse when every second counts. Wireless can drop out (its never happened to me) or the batteries can die. Gamers need instant responses and always on reliability. If you are a gamer, then this is the mouse for you.

Bottom line: If I were buying a new wired mouse, I'd be very happy with this one.

Very impressed. The reason I got this mouse was because it is so light in comparison to other gaming mice - 77g vs my really heavy ~150g Logitech G500. I realized that lighter mice let me control my aim better and respond quicker.

The first thing I noticed when I got the Kinzu was how small it was - way smaller than I expected. However, with claw and finger grip even for my large hands it fit very nicely.

When I plugged it in, I noticed the sensitivity was very high compared to what I'm used to, so I had to download SteelSeries Engine to set it to 800CPI. I thought the glossy covering of the mouse would make me sweat more, but it actually is kind of "sticky" and doesn't let the mouse slide out of your hands even when you sweat. The sensor worked just fine and I couldn't find any acceleration, or hit the malfunction speed even though I'm a medium-low sensitivity player (36cm/360)

One of the things I didn't like was that the buttons are a little bit hard to press compared to my G500. I wanted the Pro version of the Kinzu because it had the supposedly better Omron button switches, but I'm not too happy with how much pressure I need to apply to press the buttons. Other than that, it's a great mouse and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for lighter mice!

The mouse fits snugly into my hand that's slightly smaller than average. The bottom is very slick, practically frictionless, so there's less strain and fatigue from motion. It's also very responsive and fast, ideal for gaming.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
As a gamer, I've used my share of gaming mice over the years. I was intrigued by the Kinzu V2 Pro because it's pretty much a basic mouse. It doesn't have a dozen macro buttons like my other mice, but after using it, I really like it a lot. It just has a great feel to it. It has a lower profile than my current Logitech mouse that makes it more comfortable to use for long sessions. The button clicks are very definite, and the mouse wheel has a nice solid 'click' to it that I like as a gamer.

The Kinzu V2 Pro features a slick-looking glossy shell. The side grips have a matte finish and feel. The braded cord is a generous 6.5 feet (2 meters) in length. The bottom has three very large Teflon feet that really slide over my mouse pad. Being real Teflon, I hope they hold up better than the average mouse skids do--time will tell on that. Button-wise, the Kinzu V2 Pro doesn't have thumb button or, really, any extra buttons at all. Just 4 buttons total--left, right, wheel button, and another just below the wheel to change the cpi on the fly (400, 800, 1600, 3200).

Steelseries Engine: This software not included in the box. The mouse will function without it, but if you want to program it then you will need to download it from the Steelseries website. The Engine allows you to program the left, right, and wheel buttons to anything you want, including macros. If you're a southpaw, you can swap the left and right buttons via the Engine (the Kinzu's ambidextrous shape is great for left-handers). The Engine software also allows you to set the 'counts per inch' of the cpi button, and the polling (speed of the pointer) rate from 125Hz to 1000Hz. You can also store button profiles that launch with specific applications.

Overall, I love the feel of the Kinzu V2 Pro. I'd recommend it to anyone after a sleek basic gaming mouse that feels great and performs well.

The mouse that I've been using is a $100 Logitech gaming mouse. I would say that this mouse is right on par with that, and it is far less than half the price! I am anti-battery, so I love the fact that this is a wired mouse (there are too many unnecessary wireless products these days). The scroll wheel moves very smoothly, and the mouse glides around my table with ease without a mouse pad! I also like that its more of a medium sized mouse, as many mice these days are getting excessively large, and have too many unnecessary buttons. My favorite mouse ever is still the simple basic Microsoft mouse (feels great and nice scroll wheel), but if you are in need of a better mouse for gaming, then I highly recommend this one!!
