Let me first say that I agree with Carlee, having reviewed the description for this item if you were not already aware of how the ZBoard works, this is misleading. This product is merely a "keyset" for the ZBoard. The ZBoard base has all the wires and connectors to your computer, and your keysets can be lifted out and changed on a game-by-game basis (or the regular keyset layout included with the base.) They make quite a few variations of the keysets for different games.

That being said, and having been a ZBoard user for some time, I greatly enjoy the layout and functionality of this keyset. I have often found myself at a loss when returning to regular keyboards at friends houses since I am so used to the (vastly improved) layout offered on my ZBoard.

This is only a keyset and not the actual Zboard. I did end up purchasing the Zboard after reading reviews that this was only the keyset. When I purchased this item, I had thought that it was not only the keyset, but the Zboard as well. A misunderstanding when I read the description. I do enjoy the keyset now that I have the Zboard. It took a little bit to get use too, but it is a good item. Those that read this review must remember that it is ONLY the keyset, so you still would have to purchase the Zboard.

Dead on arrival, none of the buttons with the macros work at all. Had an ticket open with Steelseries for two weeks with no RMA. Beware this piece of crap, I will not buy any more of their products.

Nothing that i expected to get. doesnt even fit the keyboard. Wasnt explaned that you have to order a special key boad to use it.

I had purchased the WOtLK keyset when the expansion was released. The keyset lasted about 10 months and then some letters and numbers quit working, and it would constantly need to be refreshed to keep the other bound features working. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, etc. I downloaded everything current from the manufacturers site too (steel series/zboard).
To make sure it wasn't the actual base the keyset plugs in to, I put in my old Burning Crusade keys and they worked perfect.
Ok, so I order a new Wrath of the Lich King keyset from Amazon, installed it, and it worked great for about 10 months. As of the date I am writing this, it went out today. Last night it all worked, but today only the basic numbers and letters work. The emotes (bar 1 and 2) as well as the rest of the functions no longer work.
I made sure all the drivers were up to date, but it still shows like it is offline (the key tray icon is red, and should be green) even with a refresh and a PC restart.

I gave it 2 stars because this is the second keyset in just under 2 years that just went bad. I really love the functionality and that is why I did not give it 1 star. If you buy this, you will enjoy it, but don't expect the keyset to last more than about 10 months.

I guess for 20 bucks you aren't supposed to expect much; that still does not make it right.
I am going to wait until Cataclysm comes out before I replace this keyset again. I am sure they will have a ZBoard Cataclysm keyset.

When I ordered this product I thought it was the Zboard and the WOTLK top. But I was wrong the only thing that came was the WOTLK top so now it is just my paper weight so before you buy this buy the Zboard, or a normal keyboard.

When i first purchased the item some of functions did not work... look wise it was nice to have for the theme but otherwise i could have just used a G19 keyboard for the custom keys instead of the z-board.

Before I start: BUY THE ZBOARD BEFORE YOU BUY THIS! IF YOU DONT I WILL LAUGH AT YOUR TEARS!

So the major problem with all zboards is the fact that certain keys do not work for certain people. This is because only one side of the key has an actual button underneath.
This will make it very hard for those people who dont switch out keysets, or even those that do to write anything out side of the game.

Now in my gaming experienece this board has its uses, mainly for chat functions and emotes. After that you are better off using the fps style board the zboard ships with as the controls are bigger, the 1-6 buttons are huge, and just provides a better grasp for large hands.

I bought this and even though I thought I read through the specifications I missed that you had to have the WOW keyboard already.. Silly of me... Regardless once I paid another arm and leg it works great with my WOW keyboard, but I quit playing WOW for a few months.. If you are a die hard player, you need this edition to your game play! :)
