Product Description

Style: Black

The SteelSeries QcK+ is a dream of a mouse pad for every gamer that prefers cloth surfaces. Having been released in November 2004 this mouse pad went through extensive testing by gaming professionals before its release and with their feedback the QcK+ was further developed, to make it the ultimate cloth pad every gamer desired. With the use of high quality cloth material, an optimized texture which guarantees both smoothness and glide and a specially designed non-slippery rubber base this pad blows away the competition and is a great choice not only for the hardcore gamer but also for graphic designers and others who use their mouse for extended periods of time. Because the QcK+ is a super sized mouse pad, it's perfect for people using low sensitivity, high resolutions or designers using two or more monitors. The SteelSeries QcK+ is compatible with all types of mice and is ideal for starters because of its great value.

Customer Reviews

I like big mouse pads.
The surface feels nice and allows the mouse to glide effortlessly across it.
Recommended for anyone looking for a high quality and reliable mousepad.

This mousepad is simply marvelous, and probably the best value in gaming mousepads I've found. I went from the cheap, normal-sized mousepads to this, and the difference is astounding. A mousepad at least this large is fantastic for any FPS gamer--and essential, if you ask me. I used to be a high-sensitivity player because I hated sliding off the pad when I would turn quickly. Of course, that kills your accuracy. Now, I'm learning to use low sensitivities, which has hugely, HUGELY improved my game, and I don't risk running off the pad very often. I can basically make a full 360-degree rotation without dropping off the pad.

The pad is very large, as the description might suggest. It's roughly the area of four normal-sized (~9.125x7.75-in) mousepads. If you have four such mousepads, you may want to lay them out on your desk to see if you'd like how the mousepad fits on there.

The mousepad is very high-quality, and it sticks onto the desk like it's glued. The surface is very well-designed, and my MX-518 glides like a dream over it. There is low friction on the palms. The pad is very thin, so if you need a mousepad in order to cover up potholes on your desk, this may not work for you.

If you're looking for a large gaming-grade cloth mousepad with high quality pad a very low price tag, you should look no further than this.

First off, I'll state that I am an overzealous gamer with far too many peripherials for my own good. The Qck+ mouse-pad was not just another run-of-the-mill pad that I could find in wal-mart. The surface is super slick for a cloth pad. It is very large; anyone that slips off this pad while even 360 degree turning needs to switch hobbies. It seems to be durable. The test of time will determine this, but the material just feels like quality. The logo is sweet; the appearance is fantastic. If you do not feel more confidence simply from the studdly-ness of the pad as you make a left turn into a 300 yard valley full of snipers, once again, find another hobby. I owned an Ice-mat before this(a tempered glass pad with custom mouse feet), and while the ice was good, I believe I like the added friction of this mat better. The mix between friction and feel is not to be beat.

I have owned this product since about 2005 up to late 2009. My QcK+ has the old logo on it that is much less noticeable compared to this.

Basically this is an awesome mousepad, it's giant, it's responsive, smooth, and it lasts forever. I am now purchasing the standard QcK as it is a smller size because my current mouse (MX518) is going out so I figured I might as well get a new mouse pad with a new mouse. I do not need one this large as I don't game in very low sensitivity, however it has been convenient since I sometimes sit upright or lean and I can hold the mouse in almost anyway and still be covered. I think I will cut up my old QcK into 4 mousepads that I will use for my abused workstations.

The only bad thing now is that it isn't a jet black color like it was before but more of a washed out black. Then again I've had people scratch it with their fingernails because it leaves white lines when you do that, spill so many different things on it, and I've washed with soap and water plenty of times.

Hands down a big part of my gaming history.

If you take away one thing from your review it should be this:

Note that this mouse pad is *big* - 17.7 in x 15.7 in (450mm x 400mm), about the size of 4 regularly sized mice in a 2x2 array.

Initial impressions:

Rubberized fabric surface. Textured just enough for the laser to track accurately, but smooth enough for the mouse to glide with ease. Non stick base keeps this cloth mousepad "glued" to the desk - it does not move at all as I scrape the mouse across the surface of this pad.

I like this mousepad, and the way it "feels", but that's a personal preference. It isn't as smooth to move the mouse around as a plastic mousepad surface, and the mat has a modest "give" upon pressure because it's made of a rubberized cloth material.

It smells like a Camaro just did a burnout on this mouse pad when you unpack it, but the odor dissipates quickly. The pad comes rolled up, but lies flat under its own weight - unlike some other reviewers, my pad's edges aren't curled.

Additional observations:

The packaging says "Designed in Denmark by SteelSeries, made in Taiwan".

There's no mention in the packaging, but with its rubber-like composition, I wonder if it'll negatively affect people with latex allergies.

If you have a small desk, this mouse is not for you. If you are an "energetic" gamer and find your mouse sliding off a regular sized mouse pad, you will love this oversized QcK+.

Like all the other reviewers I'm amazed by the sheer quality of the QcK+. It's big, it grips nicely to the desktop and it has a very low profile which I personally love. The surface is smooth and it does create some friction, I've owned other gaming mouse pads that resembled having two ice cubes on top of each other, and while I totally agree that such a surface can certainly be a feature for some players I always felt it was a bit annoying and returned time and time again to fabric based mouse pads not only for the higher friction but also quietness.
Now as to the size of it I find it rather absurd, if you lay it on the desk next to the keyboard in landscape and position the mouse in the middle of the pad you'll find the mouse too far away for comfortable use, in all honesty I've found that I use the lower left quadrant of the mouse pad much more than the remaining 3 quadrants, which leads me to my next point: that logo. It's simply placed in the wrong spot. The white material feels like the kind of stuff that is applied to a cheap stamped t-shirts, the texture is obviously different from the smooth black fabric and it will affect the mouse movement once you glide over the logo and the mouse skates hit it. This is easily solved by rotating the mouse pad in any direction, personally I have it in portrait fashion with the logo on the upper left, where it will simply not bother me *ever*. However I can't let that pass under the radar, and while I gave this product a very well deserved 5 stars overall I gave it 4 stars for construction quality. All they have to do is move that logo away from the most used area, it seems like a no brainer to me and it baffles me that something as simple as that eluded the makers of this amazing product.
But I fully recommend the QcK+, you simply cannot get a better mouse pad at this price range, for gaming purposes or otherwise.
