32-Bit ARM Processor

The processor in SteelSeries Sensei is a 32 bit ARM processor and it is as fast as the original Pentium 75 MHz processor released by Intel in 1994. This reference may sound like overkill, but it's this type of power that allows it to do sophisticated calculations directly on the mouse, without the need for software drivers and without having to rely on the user's computer.

SteelSeries' industry-leading ExactTech settings, like ExactSens, ExactRate, ExactAim and more, are calculated directly on the mouse providing the user with a mouse movement that is completely free of any interpolation or extrapolation, without any delay or filtering, and without using up memory or resources on the user's computer.

On-Mouse LCD Menu

With the LCD display on the backside of the SteelSeries Sensei, you can customize all settings to fit your specific needs. The LCD menu offers setup of even the most advanced ExactTech settings.

It also allows you to upload your own bitmap picture, offering a great way to personalize your mouse--and help prevent theft at LAN-events, gaming cafes and other public places. Design your own unique picture for the Sensei LCD display, download it to your computer and upload to your Sensei via the SteelSeries Engine software.

Advanced Macros

Thanks to the support of the SteelSeries Engine software, you can record even extremely long and advanced macros to the Sensei. The macros can be layered and can include keystrokes and precise timing. How you will decide to use this advanced feature is up to you--choose your configurations wisely and adhere to any rules that you may need to abide by during gameplay.

ExactLift: Adjustable Lift Distance

The Sensei gives you the ability to customize the lift distance. This has a number of practical applications, most importantly it allows you to fine-tune the mouse to your preferred mousepad or mousing surface. Not all surfaces are equal. Surfaces are made of many different types of materials and those different materials have different qualities. They can be reflective, rough, smooth… the list goes on. All of these factors will influence the lift distance of a normal mouse; with the Sensei, we put a whole new dimension of control in your hands.

ExactAim: Slow Down And Focus

SteelSeries ExactAim will allow you to be more precise. Headshots anyone? As you slow down your cursor the mouse will decelerate even more allowing you to focus on your target.

ExactAccel: Move Faster

SteelSeries ExactAccel does just the opposite of ExactAim. As you increase the speed of your mouse movement, ExactAccel will accelerate your movements even faster in order for you to move across your game or page faster.

ExactSens: Control The Sensitivity

SteelSeries ExactSens allows you to control how fast your pointer should move by adjusting your CPI in increments of 1 between 1 to 5,700 CPI. This means, the SteelSeries Sensei offers you true hardware based sensitivity settings, freeing you of interpolation from game software. To really get the full benefit from ExactSens you need to deactivate any cursor acceleration and set your sensitivity settings in-game (sensitivity 1 or adjust your sensitivity slider to lowest possible setting) and on your operating system to default.

Plug, Play, Win

There's no need to install software of any kind in order to use the Sensei. The built-in driver can be adjusted through an LCD menu on the backside of the mouse. Simply plug in the Sensei and play. For the PC gamers who want really advanced customization options, the Sensei is supported by SteelSeries Engine technology.

This is an updated review for the SteelSeries Sensei MLG Pro mouse. My original review awarded only 2 stars. Since that time a significant problem for left-handed users has been solved and I'm very happy to raise my rating to 4 stars and edit my review accordingly.

This is SteelSeries' top-of-the-line mouse and, as far as I know, it is the second generation of this mouse. The original Sensei is still available and a "bare bones" Sensei RAW model is also available.

When my previous Logitech mouse began to "die" after barely a year of use, I launched into an exhaustive search for a replacement and I looked at every mouse I could find that had a chance of satisfying the following requirements:

1 - High quality -- Able to handle heavy (but gentle) use for at least 2 years.
2 - Either left-handed or ambidextrous design.
3 - Comfort for a large hand using a "claw" grip.
4 - RF wireless computer connection -- This requirement was dropped later (see below).

I couldn't find a non-gaming mouse that could satisfy the first two requirements. So most of the mice I examined were gaming mice. This created an unwanted side-effect: poor wireless choice. The reason is twofold: First, in order to be very fast and support high polling rates, most gaming mice are wired. Second, the few high-quality wireless gaming mice that exist have relatively poor battery life owing to their higher speed operation and computer connection. In the end I had to give up my fourth requirement.

I go through computer mice on a fairly regular basis. I don't abuse them, but I use them a lot, and in multiple capacities. From web browsing, to gaming, to image manipulation, to video editing, I do a little of just about everything. As a result, I NEED to have a mouse I can depend on.

After burning through several Razer branded mice over the last few years, I decided to go to a different manufacturer this time around and see what else is out there.

I had been using a Logitech M510 wireless mouse as a stand in after my last mouse died, mere weeks after the warranty was over with. It did the trick, but suffered, as apparently just about all wireless mice do, from drop offs in the signal and a lack of smoothness that one gets with wired mice.

My criteria was that it had to be wired, not molded for right-handers (I'm a lefty), and doesn't require one to mortgage their house to buy it.

I was pointed, via message boards, to the Steel Series Sensei MLG Pro Grade Edition. After doing a bunch of reading, I decided to give it a try.

From the moment I plugged it in, I was in heaven. I went to the website and downloaded the special software for the mouse so that I could fine tune it, although even without said software, it already felt amazing.

The tracking on this mouse is very good - no dropouts and a precision that I haven't experienced before. You can use the mouse software to fine tune everything from the DPI, to how high you can lift the mouse from the surface before it stops tracking. Plenty of extra buttons, including one that lets you double the DPI on the mouse on the fly, makes for a smooth experience whether you are surfing the web, or playing a video game.

Size wise I found it perfect.

Firstly the mouse is awesome but being a right hander having side buttons on both side of the mouse sucks. At time when you were to engross in your game for example, you will accidentally press the side buttons. Although I've deactivated it, having the botton on both side is kinda annoying.

It's not nice and Eurgonomic like Razer's DeathAdder 2013. It's relatively short in height (comparing to other gaming mice).

Everything it top notch but shape
