Adjustable

The SteelSeries Siberia Neckband for iPod, iPhone, and iPad can be adjusted to fit all head sizes by simply extending the band or minimizing it. Instead of resting on top of the head like most headsets, the SteelSeries Siberia Neckband is designed to rest behind the head on the user's neck. A good tip: extend it by pulling apart the two earcups before you place it behind your head and to optimize the fit, simply give a gentle nudge to each earcup when you have it on to get the fit you need.

Customer Questions & Answers

Customer Reviews

The headphones themselves sound great.

I am not used to the neckband style yet, though; that's the only drawback so far.
morgan snouffer
They're also quite heavy compared to other "neckband" style headphones.

Well I must say that the critical to this Product are unrealistic.

First at all, I bought this headset mainly to be used for Online games( WoW, LoL, CoD, Etc.) and second to Skype/Raid call/Team speak/etc. The reason? My Mic (generic stand mic) was a piece of crap. And "YES" I bought a headset just for the "built in/retractable Mic" Because My Old headphones are really good ones but without mic Audio Technica ATH-M50WH Professional Studio Monitor Headphones with Coiled Cable (White) (yes I have a studio headphones for gaming lol).

The day I bought this Headset I said to myself "good bye to the amazing sounding World" but... NOOOO. These Siberia Steelseries are Incredible for the price I barely Notice the difference (maybe is my brain telling me that I'm not using the Audio Technica headphones hahaha)

The Only one thing I complain is.... when U wear this headset for more than 3 hours the pain on your ears will Increase slowly to such point that you have to remove it from your ears, and as gamer taking off your headset its A BIG PROBLEM for you and your team because this break the communication, the game continuity, the game experience etc.

That is my complain, no matter the size of your ears or your head sooner or later this headset will make your ears CRY, plus they dont come with an ear cushion replace

*MYTHS and TRUTHS*

- The headset will not cover completely your ears and will fall if you move = False... unless you are Dumbo ears lol or the MAD
magazine guy

- These headset are made of cheap/fragile plastic = False...

Pros -
Great sound per steelseries reputation
Nice length chord
Attractive finish

Cons -
Really heavy ear weights which slip off ears
Impractical for prolonged use (runs hot in the ears, and there's lingering pain from the weight on the top of the ears)
Joints to neckband are made of plastic (expect it to break within the year)

Overall: There are better priced and more comfortable options. If you're looking for a neckband, find something lighter on the ears (logitech and plantronics have some good options).

Pros:
- Clear clear clear sound!
- Bass is just enough

In the middle:
- Headphones don't go loud
- Because they don't go loud, playing them with a bass booster equalizer will distort the bass and is quite a nuissance

Cons:
- Mic DOESN'T work for anything but the iPhone
- +/- and pause do NOT work for the oldest iPod Video 30GB
- THEY FALL OFF YOUR HEAD - THEY DON'T STAY ON AT ALL, YOU SPEND MORE TIME ADJUSTING THEN U DO LISTENTING

Guys, they had a great great great idea...but they took it and threw it out. The neckband would be perfect, if only it fit someones head. I tried countless friend's heads, they all noticed it slipping right away. :( Returned em'

I purchased these headphones because I love the form factor and I needed new PC gaming headphones for my LoL addiction. Unfortunately the normal Siberia Neckband headphones are almost non existent because Steel Series has stopped selling this product. Luckily this Iphone version that I am reviewing is more available.

I will review below, but first I will get to what you probably want to know.
YOU CAN MAKE THESE HEADPHONES WORK FOR PC!
As another reviewer mentioned the JLab USB VOIP Dongle makes this headshet work with PC.
Link: JLab USB VOIP Dongle - Skype, and Google Voice
The other corded adapters like the ones from Headset Buddy and CablesOnline WILL NOT WORK. (Trust me I bought them)
Since the cord on the headset is short I purchased an AmazonBasics USB 2.0 A-Male to A-Female Extension Cable to go along with the dongle and that issue is solved.
Link: AmazonBasics USB 2.0 A-Male to A-Female Extension Cable (3.3 Feet/1.0 Meter) (I'd suggest the 6.5 feet version)

If you've ever used a steel series gaming headset like the 5XB, 7XB, 5h,7h or 4h you can expect the same great microphone and comfortable earphones. The cloth headphones fit snugly around my ears and the mic is the perfect length to reach my mouth.
When putting the headphones on remember that after you extend them to get them around your ears you can contract them to make them tight. Doing this will ensure it won't slide down.

I will admit, I bought these because I wanted headphones that don't mess up my hair. Will these mess up your hair and give you that flattened band of hair across the top of your head? No. They will not. The sound quality is great, but there are some issues.

The fit of the band might be too tight for some people. They need to clamp on to the side of the head and are a lot tighter than conventional headphones. I found that when putting these on, it helped to extend the neck piece fully before slowly tightening them to my head. This helps the pressure distribute evenly on the ears, versus a lot of pressure on the back part of the ears. The pads are covered in a soft, velvet cloth, but the padding in the pads was seriously lacking. With the pressure that these headphones apply to the side of the head, I don't think half filled pads cut it. I ended up buying some replacement pads for the SteelSeries that were pleather and slightly thicker. I might mod them with a little more foam for better padding.

The sound quality of these is pretty impressive for the price. Not audiophile impressive, but better than most behind-the-neck style headphones. Most of the behind-the-neck style that I have found in non-bud style are ones that are more meant for working out and running. The sound on those typically isn't very good. These are really decent - the highs are plenty clear enough, the bass isn't buzzy, and everything sounds good. There is plenty of sound bleeding though, so when turning these up, people will be able to hear the music bleeding out of the pads. The pad swap I mentioned earlier did help it a bit.

Do I like these? Sure. They look cool and sound good. I'm willing to compromise a little comfort in order to not mess up my hair, but I wish the pads on these were better.
