Product Description

Professional Audio Without Compromise

SteelSeries H Wireless Gaming Headset cuts the cord on the highly successful H Series Headset line to deliver exceptional audio in a brilliantly designed wireless headset providing crystal clear audio and cutting edge performance across multiple platforms. While most headsets simply feature Dolby Headsets, H Wireless features 3 different Dolby technologies: Dolby Headphone, Dolby Digital, and Dolby Pro Logic allowing you to immerse yourself in the incredible virtual 7.1 soundscape.

Versatile Performance on Multiple Platforms

Why settle for listening to high end audio on just one device when you can have it throughout your entire life? Wherever and whatever your entertainment is, H Wireless has you covered. H Wireless works on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Playstation 4, PC, and Mac. You can even let a friend join in on the experience with the Sound Share port.

Lag Free. Low Latency.

H Wireless is continuously frequency hopping to preempt and circumvent interference. The competition waits for interference to be detected to change channels. We avoid it completely. It also delivers the lowest latency in the industry. While many wireless headsets have variable latency, where audio sometimes slows down or speeds up depending on the lag, the H Wireless audio stream is fixed, giving you consistent and smooth audio delivery.

Couch Control

The on-earcup controls make adjustments quick and intuitive. With the control wheel you can adjust volume and navigate the most commonly used settings right from your seat and see them change on the transmitter’s clear, bright OLED screen. Adjust the mix, EQ, and more. You don’t even have to get up.

Stunning Design

The iconic H Series colors return with a stylish matte black look throughout most of the headset. A glossy finish adorns the sides of the ear cups while a touch of SteelSeries Orange highlights the inner ear cup and stitching. Memory foam padding on the headband and earcups provides enduring comfort for long sessions.

Two Swappable Batteries

Never lose power, never go wired. The H Wireless includes two 20-hour lithium-ion batteries, which can be changed mid-action without the hassle of any cables or wires. The spare battery charges inside the transmitter making it ready whenever you need it.

Beautiful Display

The unique audio transmitter features a stunning OLED display. Profiles, audio sources, battery life, and volume are shown with crystal clear moving and still visuals. The large display makes it easy to see and operate from the comfort of your couch.

Livemix. Chatmix. EQ.

LiveMix automates the ChatMix feature and automatically turns up chat and turns down the game audio when voice communication is detected. ChatMix allows you to control the audio level balance between the action in your game and the communication from your team. You can also fine-tune H Wireless’s audio with its five-band equalizer. Tailor the sound to your preferences or select from the built-in presets for all kinds of games and entertainment settings.

Box Contents

H Wireless Headset & Transmitter, 2 battery packs, 6 cables (optical, USB, power, analog, mobile, chat), power adapter with 4 worldwide plug ends.

I pre-ordered this headset to accompany my PS4 and needed to wait several weeks to get it, but must say it was definitely worth the wait. In summary there are very few if any flaws. You can't go wrong here.

What I like:

1) Has optical SPDF input and dolby 7.1 sound is awesome. The top reason to buy a headset is sound quality and this one is awesome. I play COD ghosts and can easily tell directionality.
2) Swappable battery with charger in base station is a must. How come other headsets don't have this? I lost sound countless times on my old headset while playing. Never again.
3) Base unit with display looks good and easy to scroll through menus.
4) Setup was very easy. Worked within 5 minutes.
5) Chatmix wheel is right on the headset.
6) Retractable mic that has a disable function right on the headset. I wish everyone had this. When it is disabled it glows red so easy to tell when it is on or off.

Could improve:

1) I always play at max volume which is just enough, but wonder if they could be louder?
2) Would like ability to turn chat completely off for those annoying occasions where there is a potty mouth kid or someone is blasting wrap music. I guess I could unplug the USB, but that is a bit extreme.
3) Battery replacement is a bit tricky at first. The reason for this is that it is not obvious where the battery is and they did this for aesthetics so it is understandable. Just remember it is on the side with the mic.

Overall my wife and I are very happy with this headset. I don't game any more unless I am wearing it even if nobody else is around.

Steelseries H Wireless set the standard for gaming headsets that will be tough to beat!

I am a bit of a headphone/headset enthusiast. I wouldn't consider myself an audiophile, but I know good sound when I hear it. I've spent a lot of money on headsets and headphones over the past few years looking for the perfect blend between great music sound and great gaming sound, and I think I've finally found my baby.

Headsets and Headphones that I've had over the past few years, are:
Logitech G35
Logitech G930
Corsair Vengeance 1600, and 2100
Razer Tiamat 7.1
Razer Kraken Pro
Sennheiser PC 150 SE
SteelSeries 9H
SteelSeries Siberia Elite
Psyko Carbon 5.1
A stereo Alienware headset <terrible>
Turtle Beach X12
Audio Technica ATH-M50
Sennheiser HD 500s
Sennheiser HD8

Comfort: These headphones are extremely comfortable. At first the clamping pressure can be a bit much if you have a big head (I do) but it eases up within a couple days or so. The earcups have ample soft memory foam padding that melds to your head and doesn't get uncomfortable through long gaming sessions. The soft leather (pleather?) on the earcups is also not sweat inducing like most pleather covered headsets I've dealt with. The earcups are big enough to hold my ears inside of them without putting any pressure on the ear. All in all for comfort I would give a 5/5.

Battery Life / Range: The battery life is phenomenal. They essentially last forever. The headset has two batteries included, one of which you can charge in the base while you have the other one in the headset. When one battery gets close to dying after about 12-18 hours, you can swap it out for the other in about 5 seconds.

I have had this headset for a few days now and I am thoroughly impressed. Having tried and liking the Astro A50's in the past, I was torn between those and the wireless H's. I decided to buy the wireless H's and i'm so glad I did. In every aspect they blow them out of the water. They are definitely my favorite gaming headset I've ever bought and trust me when i say they are worth the ~$285. Here are the pros and cons I have found so far.

PROS:

-They are super comfortable and I can wear them hours at a time
-They stay secure to my head but don't bother my glasses at all
-Although I don't label myself an "audiophile", the highs and mids are excellent
-People complain of not enough bass but there is PLENTY there --- COD and BF4 sound awesome
-They work flawlessly on my XB1, laptop, and iphone 5
-The transmitter is layed out really well and the OLED screen is clear at long distances
-The controls on the headset work really well
-I can go mobile with the headset with the mobile cord
-Comes with every cord/plug imaginable
-I love the dual battery system and they do last 20+ hours
-Despite complaints, steelseries support is helpful. Answered my questions within 24 hours

CONS:

-Although they are loud enough and don't distort at max volume, I wish they were louder. I usually play games at a few notches under max. And I listen to music on my iphone at like 3/4 of the phone volume. (no need for the transmitter box)
-Along with the EQ mixing, I wish there were specific treble and bass mixing
-The telescoping mic is really handy but being a newer headset, I wish the quality of voice was better. I still put the mic equal to the A50's though.
