Developed for World of Warcraft players by SteelSeries and Blizzard Entertainment, the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm MMO Gaming Mouse invokes the iconic imagery of Deathwing the Destroyer, leader of the black dragonflight and instigator of the Cataclysm. The SteelSeries World of Warcraft: Cataclysm MMO Gaming Mouse is fully scalable to meet and exceed the requirements of even the most demanding World of Warcraft gamer.
Designed for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm
The Cataclysm MMO Gaming Mouse offers full in-game integration in World of Warcraft. All 14 buttons are individually recognized and can be assigned using the game user interface. The A+ gaming-grade laser sensor is the same laser sensor that is also in the award-winning SteelSeries Xai mouse--the same sensor used by champion First Person Shooter (FPS) gamers that demand the ultimate precision.
You can customize virtually anything on the Cataclysm MMO Gaming Mouse, from illumination customization up to 16 million different colors, to fully customizable and powerful macro binding capability. The improved user interface includes drag-and-drop button assignment, easily customizable macros plus advanced macro delays, and complete compatibility with both Windows (Win XP or later) and Mac operating systems.
Bind all 14 buttons directly from the World of Warcraft interface, without ever leaving the game. The onboard memory module allows the onboard storage of a customized profile, including custom macros and binds. Create and store up to 10 custom profiles linked directly to the Armory.
PC with USB port, latest release of the SteelSeries Engine software, and World of Warcraft game. Works with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Mac OSX (configuration software available for Windows only).

My issues so far:
First off, the presets for the mouse are stupid. I don't need a special hot key on my mouse to open my bags, check my guild, or bring up my charecter screen... I do those actions maybe once or twice a day and I have no issues with going to a menu for that. I personally want my 17 buttons to be all for combat and vent controls that I can easily bind with my Bartender UI. However changing the settings to do that was a pain, and my second issue.
The Steelseries UI won't let you just re-assign a mouse button to a letter, or a number. So if you want mouse button number 14 to actually be the letter "P", you have to scroll through a list of "Actions" until you find "Open Spellbook" (which in warcraft language equals the letter P). If you're using this for anything other than Warcraft, or maybe you don't know that there's a letter bind for checking your PVP currency, the process can get really annoying. However after I had that all figured out, and the mouse was now bound to letters that I could re-assign to combat bars... I fell in love with it.
Until lastly, issue three. For some unknown reason, my mouse loves to lose tracking and go into these 5-6 second seizures on my screen. The best way I can describe it is that it looks like the cursor is in a paint mixer and violently shaking up and down.Read more ›

OK, first I have very large hands and the mouse is comfortable for me. I have no idea why this was designed so big, it is by far the largest mouse I have ever seen, for any purpose. Button positioning is excellent for me requiring light keypresses and very responsive. It is a very good looking item, and the packaging is excellent.
Are the Steelseries designers Mac programmers who have any idea how to create a proper mouse interface on a Mac? Absolutely not. The Mac software they asked me to download is an Application, an interface port from Windows lacking ANY functionality except the interface itself....that's right folks... IT DOES NOTHING, just looks like it does.
For instance, when I opened the box I wanted to play with the LED colors on the mouse, and there is what appears to be the LED color selector panel, where you can change the color, brightness and pulsing speed of the mouse. Only problem is it did NOTHING on my Mac. I go to Steelseries support FAQs and I find:
Q: I'm using a Mac, why I can not change illumination, CPI, or polling rate settings on the WoW Mouse?
A: At this time Mac users will only be able to access default sensitivity and default illumination settings. You have full button and macro integration in World of Warcraft and the standard mouse buttons still function outside of the game. Full customization settings will come in a later version update.
Great, so your Mac software was not only an application ported from Windows, it is currently incomplete, no let's make that TOTALLY non-functional and you started shipping anyway, and you freely admit that.Read more ›
