5.0 out of 5 stars Sharp & Slick: Great for the kitchen
If you've got a funnel (and what well dressed kitchen doesn't?), these shakers are ample and you won't need to fill them very often. They are easy to keep clean, sturdy and have the right weight for good stainless steel. I love them; though I've reassigned their roles. I use the cocoa shaker for powdered sugar, the large holed shaker for stove top salt used in cooking,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh... they're ok.
The shakers are much larger in real life than they look, about 2.5" in diameter. Filling is done via chintzy plastic plug on the bottom... no screw on lids or bases here. The salt and pepper shakers get clogged from time to time, and the other shakers are just there for looks in my kitchen (thanks to a lack of covers for the exposed tops). The salt and pepper shakers get clogged from time to time, and the other shakers are just there for looks in my kitchen (thanks to a lack of covers for the exposed tops). Overall, they work well as a decorative set, but I'd look elsewhere for a more practical seasoning storage solution that will be used daily. Not bad for the price, though, considering what you'd pay for them retail.

1.0 out of 5 stars Totally Impractical, June 15, 2007

I am extremely disappointed with this set. The filling holes are entirely too small (approx. the size of a dime). I will not be using them at all and will donate them to Habitat for Humanity so that perhaps someone can get some use out of the salt and pepper shakers.

I think it's an outstanding value for the price and would make a good gift for anyone who cooks.

Put together an espresso bar for my wife and they worked out great but I wish they were a little smaller. These would work great in a shop but just a little to big for home. Other then that they work great.

I just purchased this set and LOVE it. I have been looking for a stainless steel salt and pepper shaker for some time but didn't want to pay a premium price. This fit the bill and as a bonus I got a cocoa and cheese shaker as well. The large size makes them easy to handle while cooking and they make a stylish piece placed on the stove top. I don't believe they will clog any worse than the average salt & pepper shakers as all will clog when exposed to moisture. The bottom hole for filling is easy and convenient.
For the money they are an excellent buy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Need more holes, March 19, 2007
This review is from: Steeltek 18/8 Stainless Steel 4-Piece Shaker Set (Kitchen)
The shakers look very nice but I wanted the salt and pepper shaker to sit on my stove for seasoning foods. There are not enough holes in the pepper shaker to let the pepper come out fast enough for seasoning foods in bulk. If more holes were added or they were made larger I could rate this product as a great value.
