Just like the larger version of this nutcracker, this delightfully realized nutcracker Santa sports a native Scandinavian blue coat and bright red cap with fur accents. Standing 6 inches tall, he's a great addition as a decorative accent to a bookshelf or desk. Nutcrackers in the form of wooden carvings of a soldier, knight, king, or other profession have existed since at least the 15th century, and the Steinbach family has been creating their uniquely designed wood-carved nutcrackers for most of two centuries.

The Kurt Adler company celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2006, and it has been importing Christmas ornaments from around the world since 1950. It began with hand-made angels from East and West Germany then moved to spun glass ornaments and glass balls from Czechoslovakia and holiday goods from the Far East.

The picture didn't do this nutcrack justice. It is better than I had hoped. This is a mini Steinbach and it holds true to the Steinback quality and wonderful detail. This piece will thrill any collector or lover of nutcrackers.
