I had purchased Spirit basses back in the good old Musicyo days, and I was very pleased with them. I had to sell them about 4 years ago, and missed them, so I purchased an XT2DB bass, since I had heard many stories from people who have spent a lot of time waiting for these instruments to be available. Since I already had one of these basses I already knew what I was getting, so I was very pleased with it. That fact, though, made me think that the GT guitar might go also the "way of the dodo", so decided to make the effort and have one of these, even if my specialty is the bass.
Anyway, I have to say I am very pleased with this guitar, it is very well made and also it is (and will be) a very unique and special thing, so I keep to hold on to these instruments and not selling them again. This GT Pro has two humbuckers and a single coil, tone and volume controls, and a 5 way toggle switch, just as any guitar with more than one pick up. Additional things include the Rtrem, easy to adjust and with a very useful fine adjusting knob for compensating any slight de-tuning that might occur when you unlock the bridge. A great sustain for its size, great building quality, and for me the most interesting thing: for in the past I have had electric guitars, non expensive ones, but never felt really motivated to learn, and ended selling them after a little time. This has not happened with this one, I feel excited just to look at it, and the most important part is that I feel motivated to learn to play it every single time I hold it. That has never happened before, so I am very happy. Maybe this guitar has something special, so go ahead and have one of these before they disappear. You can never know with Gibson and what they will do with the Spirit branch, but I can tell you I haven't had a single spirit line instrument that wasn't impressive and one of the greatest bangs for the buck I could find. Hope Gibson could see what a great product these guitars are, but guess they rather milk everyone with expensive Les Pauls and SG's. Last, gorgeous color, white looks awesome and surely turns heads, such as one of my friends, who is happy with his Ibanez, but when he looked at my Spirit and played it suggested he would propose a trade, which is not going to happen, LOL. Great instrument and no-hassle selling experience from Music 123. GO AHEAD, get one before they disappear forever.

Spirit GT-Pro Deluxe ROCKS!,

For a guitar that is half the size of any regular style guitar, it sure does pack a lot of sound. The neck pickup is deeper than my Strat and the bridge pickup is not as bright as my Strat. Basically it is a sound between my Strat and the LPs that I have heard. The middle pickup is very low though when used by itself. It takes a little getting use to being so small because there is no guitar to rest your right arm on when strumming. Remarkable, it stays in tune better than my Strat. Overall it is very nice and I like it.

Before buying, I read every negative review. Most that had problems complained about quality control. After all, this comes off an assembly line in Korea.
Mine arrived today in perfect condition. I can't find a flaw. The single coil is not quite perpendicular to the strings, but I had to look deep to find that. Paint is perfect, mine is white. The packaging was outstanding. The box was big enough to hold a full size guitar. The inside was layers of brown paper, with another box inside. In that box is the Spirit inside a padded gig bag (much better than I expected.) Take a bow, Amazon and Musician's Friend. I gave it 4 stars only because I haven't played it yet. Neck looks square, everything looks good, except for some reason (English not spoken in the factory?) the owner's guide is for the Steinberger Synapse, so a lot of the information doesn't apply. Gotta be something! |
