Amazon.com Product Description

Ideal for rugged hunting environments or any outdoor endeavor where walking and climbing are involved, the Steiner 10x42 Predator C5 binocular is designed for rugged outdoor use regardless of the season or weather. This high power lightweight binocular comes with an all-new rigid polycarbonate chassis that is not only durable but also waterproof and dry-nitrogen pressurized. You'll appreciate the aggressive styling of the focus wheel, which makes the C5 easy to use and focus with gloves in any weather. Its green-tinted lenses filter out the colors of haze and foliage and amplify the visibility of colors common to wildlife and game animals. The Predator C5 also incorporates the newest Steiner optics, which feature phase coated roof prisms to deliver game-sensing contrast and exceptional light transmission. With long eye-reliefs, new twist-up oculars, and patented light-blocking side flaps, this binocular measures 1.8 x 4.6 x 6.2 inches (HxWxL). Its field of view is rated at 315 feet at 1,000 yards. Backed by a 30-year limited warranty, the Predator C5 includes a padded travel case, rain guard for the oculars and the attached objective lens caps, a contoured neck strap, and a tripod mount.

Product Description

Designed for hunters and nature lovers, Steiner 10 or 12x42 mm Predator C5 Binoculars make critters "pop out" of their surroundings! The concept is simple, but the results are amazing! By boosting the transmission of red and brown shades while reducing blues, greens and UV light, animals will jump right out at you! And whether you choose the powerful 10x's or 12x's magnification, expect the best with high light transmission, pinpoint sharpness and color contrast you didn't think was possible. 4.0 out of 5 stars great optics but bad eye cups, August 6, 2010
This review is from: Steiner 10x42 Predator C5 Binoculars (Electronics)
I use them for bird watching and hunting a few times a week and think they are pretty good. The optics are great and I have no complaines about anything but the eye cups. They are a pain to adjust. I leave mine in one position and they are fine, but if you like to fiddle with them and move them up and down, get a different pair. I also have Zeiss Conquest and Nikon Monarch and would put the Predator C5 right between the two. Better than the Monarchs, but not quite as good as the Conquest.

5.0 out of 5 stars Back from Africa, June 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Steiner 10x42 Predator C5 Binoculars (Electronics)
I'm just back from a Buffalo hunt in Zimbabwe carried my c5's all day each day not too heavy hardly knew they were there, the only tiny minus is I couldn't use my bino harness because of the proprietary strap attachment so I carried them under my left arm pit in some ways better than the harness.Optics are very clear and very bright just as good as my partners Swarovski's maybe even a little better.I have or have had 6 different manufacturers binoculars and the C5's are by far the best.Very happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars steiner predator 10 x 40, July 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Steiner 10x42 Predator C5 Binoculars (Electronics)
I was gonna send these back cause I just bought a pair of steiner peregrines ...10 x 40 and the predators were being shipped enroute. Any way I opened the box and checked them out, once I set the eye cups up I decided to keep them. They were every bit as good as the peregr nes and I could not tell the difference. The quality and clearness of these binos were amazing, and I got these at a really good price...dont spent your money on a brand thats far more expensive when these guys are just as good......I'am telling you I hunt all kinds of game and these binos are the bomb........to many people associate the price with quality and in this case the quality is just as good as the high dollar brand...so do yourself a favor be smart and get these binos once you get the eye cups set you will be blow away...compare them to the others high dollars brands and you will be hard pressed to find a difference. Oh and let the others high dollars brand leave their egos at the door..
