Steiner also added a re-engineered rubber armoring that emits almost no noise during handling. The NBR rubber is durable and grippy in wet weather, with a forest green color that blends with woodland settings and most camo patterns. Most importantly, the NBR Long-Life armoring is designed to last two to three times longer than other rubber armors.
And eyeglass wearers will have no difficulty with the Predator Pro, as it offers 18.5mm of eye relief and soft, fold-down eyecups. The Predator Pro 12x40 comes with objective lens caps, a rain guard, a neck strap, and a padded ballistic nylon case.

Best set of binoculars, for the price paid,
By AT TAJIR "AT TAJIR" (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Steiner 242 12x40 Predator Pro Binocular (Electronics)
This is the first piece of professional binocular that I bought, after having gone through 2-3 cheap ones. Simply put, I am impressed by the quality of the product. The built quality seems pretty good, and the rubbery non-clip coating feels good in the hands. The part that I like about it is that once set your eyes, you do not need to refocus again. The lens clarity is also exceptional, and these comes with the coatings that makes the animals stand out amongst the foliage.
I am going to Yellowstone National Park next month which will give me a good opportunity to try out these binoculars. The only con that I feel so far is that the carrying case provided with the binocular doesn't come with straps, and so I might end up spending a few more $$ on a good bag.

Love the autofocus and the coating is great. It doesn't color the image but makes animals pop. Worth the buy.

Eye cups a dissappointment,
By Matthew Wheeler (Santa Fe, NM United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Steiner 242 12x40 Predator Pro Binocular (Electronics)
Neither my lady friend nor I was comfortable with the eye cups which let in too much light or the focus. Returned these binos and tried pairs of Pentax and Nikon. Ultimately selected the 12x42 Nikon Monarch ATB
