I received this watch for Valentine's day and I have been very pleased so far. The watch a fantastic retro-feel that works very well with a business suit or other dress clothes. The watch and the 2 leather bands are very substantial and have a very good feel on the wrist. The back of the watch is clear, so you can see the movement, which is really pretty cool. Lastly, the watch has a self-winding feature that will keep it running without batteries or winding, assuming that you wear the watch every day, however.

On the negative side, it is made in China, not Switzerland, so there is no cache there. Also, if you do not wear the watch every day, you will have to wind it daily or reset it the next time wear it. Lastly, the buttons for setting the month and day are easy to click, so you can easily advance the month or day without realizing it. Not really a major flaw, but it seemed to be a concern for the first reviewer.

Overall, I am thrilled to add this watch to my collection. It looks and feels like a much more expensive watch than it actually is.

This is one fantastic looking watch. The design is stunning and will draw looks from others. I got one last Christmas and wear it more than any other watch. It is comfortable as well. The leather bands really set it off. I recommend this watch.

do not be mislead by the people who say they expected a european timepiece it says no where in the description that tis watch is swiss made. i own a watch extremely similar to this one but it is sold ny a company named stauer. in fact it is the same watch with diffrent style ands and dial color. most automatic watches' balance wheels will stop when banged against another object so this watch will lose some seconds but i have owned this piece for over 6 months and no hands have fallen off so far. this watch was designed to be cared for not to be used at a construction site. unless you buy a rolex, omega, heuer, jaeger le coultre, etc... will you get an extrmely high quality movement. in fact anybody that knows anything about watches will tell you that it is rare that you will find a swiss automatic for under $250 there are some like swatch that are automatic but they are not swiss made only the movement is swiss swatch uses an ETA movement on their automatics the rest of the watch such as the band, case etc.. is imported from another country. only when you see the indications "swiss made" on the dial case back or movement will you know that you are recieving a high quality swiss timepiece. unless you bought it on the streets of course. so any way this watch is bueatiful and it does do its job but you still have to remember : you get what you pay for.

Received mine for my birthday. I love it. Some comment that some of the features on this watch should be changed to be more readable, convienent, etc. The point is that it is a "Replica" of a classic old automatic watch. They didn't optimize it. Improve on it, change it, they reproduced the original. It is what it is. I like it alot. Hopefully it continues working for a long long time.

I had been admiring this watch for some time and finally bought one through the "steinhausen" website. It was odd that the watch was delivered from gadgetuniverse.com. I was very supprised to find out that my "Swiss" watch proudly had "Made in China" stamped on it. (Maybe on the website they meant it was made by a Swissman and not in Switzerland)

Anyway, I had the watch for a week before one of the arms fell off. About the same quality you would expect from anything made in China. I returned the watch about a month ago and I am still waiting for my refund. IF YOU BUY THIS WATCH, DO NOT EXPECT A NICE SWISS WATCH!!!

I bought this watch thinking that it was a swiss movement watch- this is clearly not-- does not hold time-- is NOT well made-- wish i never would have bought watch and I FEEL CHEATED by the company that sold it

All of the reviews that say that this watch was made in China is totaly incorrect. I can say this with total confidence because I, myself have this same watch. On the back of the case it clear says "Case China". This does not mean that the watch was made in China, just the case is. The case may have been made in China but the parts or "jewels" were made in Switzerland. The "jewels" are the most important part of the watch (they are the parts that make the watch work). I hope that this review helps change the minds of future buyers.

I was influenced by the "retro replica" nature of this watch. Indeed, it is very stylish, and looks like fine jewelry that nicely accents a dress shirt. However, I was dismayed to find that I often had to manually set the little day of the week dial, as it did not stay synchronized with the timekeeping of the watch. Fortunately, I usually know what day of the week it is, but if the feature is on there, it should work correctly....

I bought this watch as a gift thinking that I was purchasing a "proudly made" watch from Europe. Ha! I get the watch and it's "Made in China"! False advertising!

This is obviously an attractive watch, and based on the reviews, I had no expectation that it was made in Europe, which was fine by me as long as the watch performed well.

Unfortunately, the watch performs more like a $20 watch than a $200 watch. In less than two months of wear (nothing too brutal; just in the office), the watch stopped working completely. In fact, the hands could not even be manually moved with the crown.

Thinking this was an isolated incident, I ordered a second watch. That watch lasted less than a month. Both watches were directly ordered from Steinhausen and they refused replacement. The "warranty" on this watch requires you to pay nearly $100 (shipping, handling, etc) to perform a repair. Google "Steinhausen Warranty" to see similar stories from others.

Bottom Line: Avoid.
