The drawings in this book all include cats in different positions. Sleeping, eating, and playing. They are beautiful and simple drawings of cats. Great book for the cat lover.

These drawings seem to move by themselves within the printed page. This artist truly portrays a cat in all serenity, playfulness, strength, and agility. These drawings are so life-like I could almost feel the warmth of life in each animal drawing. A great gift for any kitty lover.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fascinating look at Steinlen's work, December 2, 2011
This review is from: Steinlen Cats (Dover Fine Art, History of Art) (Paperback)
I'm a fan of Steinlen's art anyway, and this book is a fascinating look at his close and appreciative observation of cats. In addition to studies of cats in all sorts of poses and situations, there are a handful of filmstrip-like studies of "cat situations," such as a cat with a ball of yarn. They're so funny, and so true to life, and show Steinlen's deep affection for and understanding of, cats. Dover books are always a bargain, and this one is no different. It deserves 6 stars!
