Our little 15 pounder, AbiGirl the wonder BOM (beagle/pomeranian), is a VERY picky eater, and we search the world over for quality ingredients that have added nutritional value. While they might seem pricey, you get what you pay for- We feel the value is fair for the quality of the product. We'd rather feed quality raw foods to keep her healthy- because health is priceless... Stella and Chewy's understands the importance of a raw diet that is easy to handle and dispense... these little freeze dried steaks make AWESOME treats if broken into pieces, as well as a nice easy dinner if served whole. Terrific for traveling, convenient, really nutritious, and - most importantly- Abi loves them... no turned up nose EVER when we hand her a Stella and Chewy's steak!

This is an expensive food but compared to insulin it is not that bad. Our little pomeranian was diagnosed as a diabetic a little over a year ago at just under 5 years old. We have been giving him an insulin shot twice a day since then. We feed him and then give him his shot (along with a treat). The problem was he didn't want to eat when we needed to give him the shots, he just wasn't always interested in a timely manner. It is very important how much insulin you give and the timing so that his blood glucose remains at a safe level. During this time I was learning alot about how I should eat for my own health and I eliminated grains from my diet. I was reading about how grains turn to glucose when they get metabolized in your body and realized the same thing was happening to our dog. When his glucose goes up he needs more insulin and insulin is a fat producing hormone. The objective for health (whether a diabetic or not) is to limit the amount of insulin your body needs for a multitude of reasons (all making you healthier). I researched grain free dog food and Stella & Cheweys was one I tried first because of the rave reviews. I have to say, I no longer have to encourage my dog to eat, he is always ready. If I utter the words "duck, duck" or "stella's beef" he goes nuts! We give him a patty, his shot/treat and then another patty twice a day. We also chose this food so if we go out of town my sister-in-law can easily feed him without any hassle for her. The best news is because this food is grain free and as healthy as it is we have cut his need for insulin by two fifths. That means we pay for less insulin and he is healthier. He has much more energy and it is a delight to feed him now. I highly recommend Stella and Cheweys!

Great food for the Master's best friend it's all natural and my dog love's it. Before we tried these she had trouble keeping other dog food digested and she would leave accidents on the floor. Now she's trouble free and gets the vitamins and required nourishment she needs.

My 9 month old Yorkie puppy is a finicky eater. When he is in the mood, he gobbles down Stella & Chewy's dreeze dried patties. He likes the beef the best, but will occasionally eat the duck-duck and chicken. I have a friend who has larger dogs and they are on a raw food diet and love these patties. Their coats are so shiny and I have found that my Yorkie's coat is beginning to also shine.

My dog LOVES this stuff. He wasn't eating his regular food and I got this and crumbled one burger on top and he attacked it! Also he is a nervous stomach kind of dog but there was barely any upset when I introduced this food. Really amazing.

After feeding frozen raw for years, i got tired of preplanning every meal (and sometimes forgetting...) so i switched to dehydrated raw--much easier! Just add water!
So I researched a lot of dehydrated raw dog foods and this one gets dogfoodadviser-dot-com five star rating. Really an excellent product.

BUT--my small (20lb), moderately active, adult dog would eat 6 burgers per day. 12 burgers sells for $12+ per bag! (This item I'm reviewing is the double bag--a teeny bit less $) So I'd be paying around $40+ per week to feed him. It's pretty excessive. I'm not sure how they stay in business with these prices. Do they only sell to people with tea cup sized dogs? Not sure. But I know I wouldn't feed a Large or Giant dog this stuff. OMG it'd cost a fortune.

Anyway, if you have the money, it's a really great product. If they ever lower the price, I'll give it 5 stars.

I currently have small 3 dogs who have each eaten Stella & Chewy's since they were adopted, and an immunocompromised foster puppy who's been on it since she came to us a few weeks ago.

Barley is 2.5 and has been eating it since he was a puppy. He has PERFECT teeth, a coat like molten silver, and crystal clear eyes. His weight is perfect and he's never gassy (which is great because he sleeps practically on my head sometimes).

Mr. Growley was 4-5 when we adopted him almost 2 years ago and had an itchy coat, constant gas, and some tooth tartar and decay. Since he's been with us his skin has cleared up, his coat is snow white and thick and soft, he doesn't have gas (thank god), and the tartar on his teeth has actually gotten better without any brushing or dental work.

Molly was 5 pounds when we got her, somewhat emaciated, and was supposed to be 2 years old. Since she's been with us, just over a year, she grew 4 pounds (!!!) and is a stocky, but not fat, little bundle of bossy energy. We're assuming she was younger than 2 and had some growing to do, but the difference is amazing.

All 3 of the dogs have great breath (for dogs) and very firm, not stinky poop. Being small dogs they sometimes have accidents in the house but you can NEVER tell it's happened by the smell - it doesn't smell at all (weird, huh!). You don't know until you see it.

Baby Girl is a foster and has been with us for about a month (she belongs to the rescue Leave No Paws Behind). She's about 10 months old and came to us eating whatever the vet was feeding her. She has a genetic immune disorder called dermatomyositis. Her skin was in terrible shape, her eyes were inflamed and runny, and she was very underweight. She had significant hair loss in certain places too.
