5.0 out of 5 stars A must-get CD of space music!, January 5, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Stellar Collections (Audio CD)
You want space music (as well as Planetarium music)? Besides John Serrie's "Planetary Chronicles," Geodesium would be a top choice. I notice that not many places (besides amazon.com) would have them. If many other stores would carry John Serrie's albums, why not Geodesium???

You want to know how Geodesium's music is like? Give "Stellar Collections" a listen. Unlike John Serrie, Mark C. Peterson (the Geodesium guy) is more on the upbeat side (not that there's anything wrong with Serrie's relaxing music). Nice background music for watching the heavens. The best way to listen to this album is through a stereo system with a dynamic range. For instance, you would feel the low sounds on "The Distant Worlds Collection" (i.e., about 3 minutes into track 5). That same track also has something you may be familiar with... if you know "Sudden Revelations" from Tangerine Dreams "Canyon Dreams." The whole CD itself is like a journey through the cosmos.

Whoever would listen to this CD take note of this: there's a hidden song starting on Track 7, index 25:36. I was told that it's called "Saturnesque."

If you like it, then you might as well get "West of the Galaxy" and "Fourth Universe." That's a couple of more CDs of Planetarium music. There are slightly different versions of "On Orbit" and "Rhapsody On A Red Planet" from "Fourth Universe." You may find it worth while to get "Anasazi" as well (listen to the samples of this one before you decide). That has "Chetro Ketl," a familiar tune you may find on a couple of parts in "Stellar Collections," sotra like a variation on it, if you will.

If you dig analog synth music, then you may want to get the first two Geodesium albums. You can get them ONLY through Loch Ness Productions. They contain planetarium music from the '70s and early '80s featuring analog synthesizers like the EMS SYNTHI AKS. If you were to purchase them then note this: Like "Stellar Collections," there's a hidden track on "Double Eclipse," starting on Track 10, index 7:08. I was told that the hidden song is entitled "Super Star."

4.0 out of 5 stars My First Geodesium CD, December 27, 2003

I especially liked MarsQuest but the album seemed a little corny in places, still very good though!
