From the Publisher

This unusual book unmasks to the public for the first time the esoteric principles of the greatest sage of ancient Egypt, Hermes Trismegistus. Baines boldly reveals how the human being is manipulated and controlled by a vast cerebral and cultural program. He explains that the only possibility for freedom from this perpetual slavery consists in transcending oneself to finally cut the cord that connects us to this central computer. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

John Baines has a knack for giving us insights that initially shock us but later force us to ponder on them. In this work, he has revealed amazing secrets convincingly enough to destroy the foundations of all three Semitic faiths. The case of Hermetic wisdom has been presented with scientific logic than meandering long windedly like conventional Oriental philosophies.

Readers will learn about the 7 Keys of Hermeticism, each explained with several subtopics that one would have had to spend a lifetime for knowing in the ancient days. There is no arrogance, no idle humour, no "selling". Nearly every chapter has an invitation to think out for ourselves about the veracity of the fantastic insights.

The most convincing teaching is that of Living in the Present Moment. Only Janet Swerdlow in her work "Decoding your Life" has been as rational in the presentation of this teaching.

There are no tantrik mantras, no funny symbols, no voodoo dolls, no kinky Crowley sex-rituals, No Kaos Magick, no airy fairy "love is light" claptrap, no numerology, no Freemasonic conspiracies to rule the world, no Astral travel tickets, no Vortices of Atlantean Time Travel or Montauk, no CIA/FBI/Black Choppers, no UFOlogy, no Reptilian Shape Shifting and the only thing shocking is a few HP Lovecraftian characters presented logically without the Evil Dead make up.

The ordinary man who becomes a Stellar Man seems to be just as ordinary from the outside as Stanley Kubrick's hero in "2001 Space Odyssey", yet it is the ordinary and featureless space intitiate who transforms into a Star Child in that film.

Once in a while, a book comes a long which changes the lives of the people who read it. What John Baines has done, is to give us a glimpse of a profound acient way of seeing the universe as it is. With his myriad examples and explanations, he patiently communicates to the reader the "first step" of a system of knowledge that seems to have been kept alive on the earth for thousands of years. Though available to anyone, it can only be earned by one's own practical effort and merit. One gets the feeling of coming into contact with something alive, immense, universal, and real. Don't be mistaken- this book is an actual invitation into something that can only be experienced for oneself.

All of the books by Baines are superb, this one just happens to be perhaps the best summing-up of his overall ideas and methods. He refers to his philosphy as "Hermetic", but in actuality it does not resemble traditional hermetics insofar as it is rather sparing in the utilization of symbols and symbolism; however, this in no way hinders the effectiveness of his presentation. I would describe his ideas as something of a cross between those of Gurdjieff/Ouspensky and Julius Evola - indeed a powerful combination! The underlying structure and manifestations of mental and spiritual slavery are exposed in an uncompromising assault, paving the way for their defeat and the possibility this opens for the emergence of the "Stellar Man", the pinnacle of human potential. I would suggest also purchasing "The Secret Science" as a primer for this more in-depth treatment, as well as "Hypsoconsciousness" for a practical methodology of implementing these initiatic concepts into daily life - a powerful trilogy that will rock your foundations!

Do you want to Awaken? If you want to experience genuine reality, and not the dance of delusion that many mistake for 'reality', this book holds the key.
In plain language, and without the usual New Age claptrap, Mr. Baines outlines the matter and method of Hermetic awakening and becoming a Stellar Man. It is both simple and profound, and with depths of insight that many writers wish they had.
If you feel a restlessness and urge to become more than what common society wants you to be, you will find this book, and its introductory companion "The Secret Science", a very helpful guide.

Format: Paperback
While living in Chile, I had the opportunity of attending, during a year, the then Monday evening discourses of this Hermetic Master, one of seven in the world at that time (1980s). Having been associated with esoteric - occult science for some years, I was not surprised but definitely impressed by the Master's presentations. I have read all his books, and heartily recommend this, The Stellar Man, to anyone who cares about important, personal questions related to their true Being. What impacted me the most during those discourses was how much the few hundred people in attendance actually laughed at many of the things the Master said, as if he was joking. He definitely was not. I recall one evening, he made this comment: "What makes you think that God is perfect?" Everyone was amused and some even laughed out loud, as if it was a joke. He could not have been more serious, and for an instant his serious eyes met mine and I knew that he knew that he had helped me to comprehend a powerful truth in a very few words! Get this book. Read it, reread it, study its content, and even translate it into your own words, if it helps to make the messages clearer. Meditate on its key points and you will eventually come to some very important clear truths about many esoteric-occult truths. Reading this book is only the first step. Go the full ten yards, and become the owner of His messages! Baraka Bashad...
