5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely fabulous!!!
Okay, so I know what you are thinking about these glasses- they seem completly impractical for coctail drinks. I thought the same thing when I recieved them as a gift (my friend knew how much I liked appletinis, and thought that these glasses would be fun to use, as well as keep my drink cold). While they do keep your drink cold, it seems silly to have to find the...

As habitual martini drinkers, my husband and I just had to have a pair of these to try. They are good for some amusement, but ultimately not as great as you might think.

They do keep the drink fairly cold on a warm summer evening, although only the tip of the glass remains in the ice (or ice water, which we found works better). Chunks of ice tend to adhere to the bottom of the stemless glass, sometimes providing a cold, dripping surprise to the unwary drinker who lifts the glass suddenly.

They are not practical for a party, or for carrying your drink from place to place. Therefore, we only use them when we know we will be stationary -- say, enjoying a martini while watching a movie.

An amusement, a novelty, but not much more than that. (And caution: the stemless glasses are hard to hold while washing!)

I thought the same thing when I recieved them as a gift (my friend knew how much I liked appletinis, and thought that these glasses would be fun to use, as well as keep my drink cold). While they do keep your drink cold, it seems silly to have to find the 'chilling bowl' every time you want to set your glass down. However I have found that these glasses are perfect for shrimp coctails. They keep the shrimp cool, and the bottom of the glass holds the perfect amount of coctail sauce. I love these so much that I went out and bought additional sets, for when I throw dinner parties, or have holiday dinners with the family. They are a practical way of serving shrimp, and they look fabulous at each place setting.

2.0 out of 5 stars Kinda cute, January 6, 2009

These glasses are very small. The ice bowls are so little that we would need to crush the ice cubes to get them into the bowl. The glasses might hold one shot of vodka. But I kinda agree with another review that they would be perfect for shrimp cocktails. So maybe I'll get more sets so I can use them for dinner parties and serve shrimp cocktails as an appetizer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not only for cocktails., December 22, 2010

As a martini drinker I have often looked at the stemless glasses but it took a dinner party where I planned to serve shrimp cocktails for me to buy them. They ARE a bit smaller than I would have liked, but they worked perfectly for the shrimp.

With Christmas just a few days away, my guest is planning to use them to serve the dessert she's going to make. Her thought is a small, light dessert after a huge holiday dinner! The size will be a benefit making sure portions are kept in check.

I am looking forward to my first martini in these glasses. I'm sure it will be great, if small.
