I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Stench of Evil by Peter Hough
Warning this book is not for the faint of heart or the sensitive souls out there. That being said I am one of those souls and I could not finish the book. The extent and nature of the human sacrifice of babies to Satan forced me to stop reading. I love the psyhic stuff in the book and the other worldly element. The writing is great but I'm just not a fan of horror and there was too much of that for me in the chapters about Matty. So based on what I did read is what I'm basing my review on I will give it a 3 star. I despise not finishing a book, but in this instance I will have to.

I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. Ben loses his family in a tragic accident. You follow Ben through this story as he is accused and arrested for murder. Great read that keeps you on the edge of your seat! WaAR

I was given this book in return for an honest review. Ex-Journalist Benjamin lost his wife and daughter in a hit and run accident. He had visions as a child and due to the trauma, they return. Unfortunatley, they return in the middle of a string of murders. Murders that may not have been commited by anything human. After one such vision, he goes to the police. DI Flowers, when he hears the tale, is not only skeptical but suspicious and after another murder, Ben becomes the main suspect and is arrested. DI Flowers and Sgt.Nasseri have to find out what is really going on, do they have their man? Through their investigation they see things they didn't think were possible and begin to wonder. This book will definately have a sequal, I don't read previews of the next book as I am too impatient, but it's there. This book combined two of my favorite genres, mystery and horror. You have got to read this book. I cannot wait to see what happens next and I think I might need to go back and read previous novels because this one was that good. WaAr

The Strench of Evil is the perennial tale of good versus evil. As with any conflict, it is the innocent who are the victims. They are the pawns in a bizarre and frightening set of events that occur in the north of England. The author, Peter Hough, has crafted a ‘supernatural’ story that engages the reader in the novel’s spell-binding grip. The twists and turns in the plot make the novel difficult to leave and it makes you lock the doors if you’re reading it late at night before bed! I enjoyed the author’s river metaphor in the early part of the story and the clearly described characters and setting that help the reader to visualise the actions in the plot. Although I am new to this genre, I can’t wait for sequel to be finished. Five stars!
