Stenciling is fun and as the author advocates in this project filled book, anyone can do it. Besides being fun and easy, it is a great way to bring old objects back to life in a new way. After an introduction that gives you the basics of what you need to know such as the types of tools you need, different surfaces and what they will need, along with different ways to stencil, and numerous other helpful nuggets of information, it is on to the projects.

The first project is the "Sliver Mist Skirt" (Page 29) that consists of a lily pattern painted on a black skirt originally purchased at a thrift store. Various designs for chairs, tables, dressers, walls and more clothing as well as many other items follow. I especially liked the Mayan designs on glass storage containers (Page 48), the "Serpent Stone" (Page 81) and the "Sea Bath" stencil project for bathroom accessories found on page 96. Color and versatility are important throughout the book as well as creating your own personal design and image.

The book includes seven pages of stencil motifs so that you can photocopy them and transfer the designs, two pages of short biographies on the various designers, a one page index and twenty ready to use stencils in the attached sealed bag.

Designed for fun, this book is sure to be a hit for all ages. With a hardback binding encasing a spiral notebook format, the books lays open flat for ease of use which is also a nice touch. Colorful and bright it provides plenty of textual information and large pictures to help you have fun stenciling.

I bought this book on a whim. After going through the book and looking at all the great stencils, this is a great buy for the price. I am a mixed media artist. I've used several of the stencils on my altered books and they look amazing. I love the dragon stencil. Several of my friends have bought this book after seeing mine.

With over two dozen ready to use laser-cut stencils, a half dozen pages of additional designs to enlarge and photocopy so you can cut your own, and its myriad of projects, Stencil Me In provides a LOT of bang for your buck. Beginners learn basics, from which paints and inks work best for a particular application, to elements of design layout. For artists with some experience, the what-to-do-when-things-go-awry section is eye-opening. Projects include things to wear, things to use, and things with which to decorate. The stenciled butterfly chair is an easy project that elicits immediate gratification!

This book has a great selection of easy to use stencils that can literally go on everything. After owning this book for only a few weeks, I've already customized my guitar, and painted a full size mural on my wall. Great purchase!

I first found this book at the local library, and it inspired me to do some bleach stenciling on shirts for my kids. Well, being a library copy, the stencils were a little on the beat-up side, but still useable, and we turned out some great t-shirts for the boys. At the appointed time, I turned it back in, and a couple of months went by. Once again, the kids and I got the bug do some more stencil work, and lo and behold! Naturally, the library's copies had become "lost". All three of them. At that point, I *knew* we needed our own copy. (And unlike *some people*, I was not about to resort to theft. Book thieves, especially library book thieves, SUCK!) I was tickled pink to be able to surprise my boys with a brand-new copy of our own, and Amazon had the best price for it.

This book has some great suggestions for uses for the stencils, and some nicely creative projects, but the real stars of this show are the stencils themselves- they're pretty darned heavy-duty, made of plastic (not cardstock, as you generally find out there), and can handle a high volume of usage. There's silhouettes for just about everybody; we've found some great uses for most of 'em, especially the jellyfish, ravens, robots, the giant paisley, the power lines...ok, just about all of them. If you want to make a step up from using freezer paper, and are looking for a great set of stencils that will work on just about every application imaginable, this is a fantastic book, and would make a great gift for anyone with even the slightest crafty tendencies! Casa Rodman gives this one 8 thumbs up. :o)

I bought this used on here, and didn't read the fine print, so I discovered my book was missing a number of stencils. Anyhow, if anyone knows how to get the missing stencils that would be great, the book looks really cool, I'm excited to use it.
