Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

For a country-style approach to easy wearable or home decorative stenciling projects, Stencilling Made Easy is a good primer. Roses on a watering can and windowbox, cat faces on a T-shirt and sneakers, farm animals on terra-cotta tiles, ivy on a holiday table setting, hearts and checks on kitchen accessories, lacy patterns on wrapping paper and notecards--the surfaces are varied, even if the designs are somewhat mundane. The initial techniques section is quite useful, with brief but helpful coverage of making stencils, using different applicators and paint types, and tips for working on various surfaces (wood, metal, paper, fabric). Each of the step-by-step projects includes full templates. If you want a more sophisticated look, you'll prefer Simple Stamps and Stencils; if folk art's your choice, go with this title. --Amy Handy
