This boot bench did exactly as promised! Our house is not equipped with a "mud room" and my boyfriend works at a stone quarry, so there is always lots of dust, stone and mud when he gets home! We put it in the garage, and there is ample room under the bench for his boots, it provides him with a place to sit while he takes them off and there is storage in the seat for all the miscellaneous "garage items" that you never know what to do with!!

Kids use it so we love it. Plenty of room for mittens/hats in the bench. Everybody's boots and shoes fit easily underneath except for the tallest Men's winter boots. Two and five year old have no problem getting up on top of it to sit.

This product really has some excellent attention to detail. The storage area under the lift-up seat is perfect for gloves, scarves, etc. If you click on the photo to see the larger view, you can see how the seat itself has these little indentations which keep you from sliding off if your pants are wet (think of kids coming in after playing in the snow or rain). And the water will go into those little indentations (instead of rolling off onto the floor) and the water will either evaporate from there if you leave it or you can easily soak it up with a towel. The bottom area has these raised slats for the shoes and boots to sit on as well as a cutout in the back - allowing for them to properly air dry when wet. The material this is made out of is virtually indestructible and will easily withstand the elements even if you want to leave it outside on a porch or deck. The size is just right - not too big or too small. We loved it so much we ended up buying another so there'd be one by each of the most used entrances into the house.
