The Police Department in Birmingham, Michigan "loans" these Kid Alerts! to local residents to discourage careless driving in our neighborhoods. The waiting list was months long, so we bought one for ourselves.
Our Police department also provides official police shield stickers to residents for placement on the "little man".
I would encourage every parent to purchase this.

I live in Connecticut where I cannot find a store that stocks this sign. It may [not cost much], but there is a big shipping surplus due to the larger size.

It's worth it! I continually have people asking where they can get the sign and no one seems to mind paying extra for shipping because it really works!

One caveat: DO NOT PUT THE SIGN ANYWHERE BUT ON YOUR PROPERTY!!! I put the sign behind my car parked on the street in front of my house and a policeman stopped to tell me that if anyone were to trip/fall over the sign, I would be legally responsible. It doesn't seem fair, but keep the sign on your lawn to avoid problems with others.

I bought these for my son's birthday party which was the day before Easter. Since we were having an egg hunt outside, I was VERY concerned about the number of children outside and since we have a corner lot, I wanted some sort of warning to oncoming motorists. So, I bought two of these signs and were they the hit of the day! They work so very, very well, they're extremely brightly colored so they're very visible from all angles. Plus, the red flag the little boy waves is an extra extension for folks to see. We have a couple of speedsters around our neighborhood and these guys provide just enough peace of mind whenever we're outside with out little one. He's never out of sight but still, if you have careless drivers around, these guys are awesome!

Much to my son's delight this KidAlert! made the traffic slow down almost to a stop. He was very excited to see the drivers hit their breaks.

It was a very, very windy day and it stood its ground.

We live on a court area on a military post. Of course the favorite place to play for the neighborhood children is in the parking lot area. All of the court residents know that care is needed when entering the parking lot. The Kid Alert, I think, will prove to very valuable to our vistors - so that they will exhibit caution while parking. We put it on our "wish list" and received it yesterday from grandparents. I am very impressed by the durablity and construction. I did not realize the overall size was so large - It stands about 3 feet tall. I was expecting something a lot smaller. I cannot wait to put it at the end of our street. I would highly recommend it to everyone.

We've had "Mr. Safety" as we call him for about 4 years now and he is going strong. Left out year-round (even in 2 foot of snow) he retains all of his virtues except for his 'slow' sticker. (Gone somewhere, probably taken off by one of the kids-- LOL)

He may not be very education, and he's not really fun <grin> but he is another little thing we parents can do to increase safety. Of course, we never let down our guard, and Mr. Safety isn't a magic totem, but he does give intelligent people a heads up that little children are around.

Five Stars. Not a cure all, but a solid helpful guy who wants to help keep us safe.

This is a very handy item for every yard. Displaying it will keep your kids safe from those speeding cars and let you stop worrying. For parents with children under thirteen this is a great everyday thing for when your kids are playing outside. It will become very handy if you live on a street corner where cars are turning or near a busy road. It is also useful if you want to have a party or other outdoor event where kids will be running around. Drivers will love it too! You should consider getting this item if there are constantly alot of kids in your yard. This is also useful if you have pets outside.

I ordered this Safety figure to help warn approaching motorists that my children were out there riding bicycles, rollerblading, playing etc. Unfortunately it was such a big hit It was stolen after only two days of use, right from my front yard!!! Please find a way to secure yours!!! The neighbors were all commenting on how visible it was and asked how to get their own. I did put my name and address on the bottom in permanent markers so I just may find it someday!!! A great product!!!

We have used this at the end of our driveway when our children are at play to urge passersby to use caution and slow down. It's been very effective and outsiders have complimented it and asked where to purchase it for themselves as well!

I have two of these 'safety kids'. I run a daycare and I love them. People slow down and pay attention when they are driving past my house. I have had people give directions to my daycare by mentioning the 'safety kids'.
