5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST easel out there!!!!, October 30, 2005

We debated for a long time as to which easel to go with, I'm so glad we went with this one - it's perfect. Chalkboard works great, erases beautifully and very easy to draw on. The other side is a magnetic whiteboard that my son has drawn on with crayons, wipes off no problem. It comes with 1 pack of magnetic letters and one pack of magnetic numbers - throw them out - they are a choking hazard - you can easily buy a larger set at your local Longs, walgreens or whatever for about $1.00 each. I love how this easel folds up for easy storage and one of my favorite things about this easel over the others (besides the quality) is the storage tray - it goes from one side to the other, very easy to clean and holds a ton of stuff. It has a clib on both sides to hold paper or pads of paper (I've put up one sheet and it holds it just as perfectly as a whole pad). My son has been playing with this easel non-stop since we got it. We bought it directly from step2's website because their shipping charge was MUCH cheaper than here. I highly recommend this as a wonderful easel for any child!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the hot spot of my house!, February 6, 2007
This review is from: Easel for Two (Accessory)
My girls love to color but, the little one, 22 months loves to color ANYTHING. When we recieved this in the mail she went right to it. She has colored all over it and I have been able to wash it all right off. I have paper in the big clips on both sides that she is not able to pull off while she is coloring. This has become the favored spot in the house for my girls and even my oldest, 11, likes to help his sisters make cool things. I got it so my 22 month old and my littlest 3 months would eventually both be able to use it at the same time. I never thought my older two would like it as well! It is very sturdy and the tray in the middle is great for holding crayons. We did not keep the little magnets because they are not as safe as I think they should be for this age. I also love the fact that I can fold it down to move it and put it in the closet when needed. Great product!

Very easy to set up and it was everything I had hoped it would be. My two year old grandson has enjoyed it. The only problem I have found is in the magnetic letters. The small magnets fall out very easily. Annoying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Easel at a Great Price!, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Easel for Two (Accessory)
This easel is great. I got this for my 4 yr old son and he loves the chalk board for drawing fun and the magnetic side for letters and painting. The only thing is that you have to buy your own eraser for the chalk board, but Amazon sells it! Great product! Buy it :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Buy!, July 17, 2007

I wanted a wooden easel for my son and reviewed many. I never even thought to get a plastic one. My husband went out and bought this one and I am so glad he did. My 27 month old went right to work on drawing... all over it! It is easy to wipe clean and I love the size and durability of it!

These Step2 products seem to last FOREVER so I am sure it will be good as our family grows as well.

I strongly advise you to check this one out if you are interested.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pays for itself over and over in Grandma's art gallery, January 9, 2007

I purchased this for my 3-year-old granddaughter, and both she and her parents love it! She enjoys drawing, both on her own and with someone, and her mom and dad use the magnets to teach her letters, numbers, and more. I have gotten more than my money's worth in art for my refrigerator gallery!

It's easy to set up and use, sturdy, and has handy storage for supplies.

My husband's parents recently purchased this easel for our 20 month daughter. Based on the reviews I had read, I was prepared to put aside or throw out the magnets that came with it. As one previous reviewer has mentioned, the manufacturer or seller must have been listening to comments, as the magnets that we received are made of soft foam with a flexible magnetic backing which seems very secure (no little magnet pieces to fall out). There are one or two small pieces (a division symbol, for example) which you may want to remove if you have a child who puts things in his or her mouth, but overall they seem perfectly safe to me. And while my daughter has enjoyed drawing on the chalkboard side, she is much more interested in playing games with the magnetic letters and numbers for now. Overall, a big hit. I definitely recommend this easel.

My 5 year old has really enjoyed this easel. It's a big easel with a spacious storage tray for markers, crayons, magnets, etc. A terrific price for a fun, educational toy.

I DID A LOT OF SEARCHING AND READING REVIEWS FOR AN EASEL FOR MY DAUGHTER. I DECIDED ON THIS ONE INSTEAD OF THE LITTLE TYKES ONE B/C THIS ONE HAD A SHELF BETWEEN THE TWO SIDES TO HOLE ITEMS. I LIKED THAT IDEA. MY DAUGHTER IS 18 MONTHS OLD AND IS ONLY 31 INCHES. SHE CAN'T REACH TO THE TOP WITH A MATKER YET BUT SHE PLAYS WITH IT EVERY DAY. SHE LOVES TO SCRIBBLE WITH THE DRY ERASE MARKERS THEN ERASE IT AND START OVER. SHE PUSHES IT ALL OVER THE LIVINGROOM SO WE WILL OPEN THE MARKERS FOR HER. SILLY GIRL. YUP, I WILL SAY THIS IS THE BEST AND CRAYON, WASHABLE MARKER, DRY ERASE, ETC WIPE RIGHT OFF THIS ITEM!!! LOVE IT!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good toy for little artists, December 29, 2007

My little artists truly enjoy this toy. It is great because it has two-sides, so my 15 month old son and my nearly 3 year old daughter can both play at the same time. (I'd do just about anything to avoid temper tantrums over a great toy). Another plus is that it folds up and stores quite nicely. The clips at the top work extremely well to hold up any paper that my children want to color or paint (I only wish that my son was a little taller so that he could reach the paper better when it is clipped to the easel - but he will grow). The shelf underneath between the two easels is fabulous for holding any of their art supplies and helps them keep their things within an arms reach. I agree with the other reviewers, the small magnets in the letters and numbers fall out easily and are choking hazards. I have put all of the letters and numbers away and now my children can concentrate on the artistic side(s) of the toy.
