I bought this table at Toys R Us. Unfortunately, Toys R Us does not set up sand and water tables so I could not compare this table to its competitors. Now that we have this table at home, I wish I had bought a different one. No, I won't return it because of the hassle of taking it apart, but this table has several flaws.

On the plus side, the umbrella seems well made and it is sturdy. My kids really like the water/sand wheel too. The cover stays on well to keep the sand covered overnight. On the negative side, the space for water is way too small. It is hard to do anything with the boats. There are no little paths, roads, or bridges. The sand side is spacious, but really, all that can be done with the water side is mix sand and water, which creates a big mess.

Currently, we are filling it only with sand on both sides. Mixing sand and water is a bit of a disaster - a better idea than it sounds since the water and sand do not actually stay segregated. I wish the water side had been more fun because I think it would be nice to keep it with only water at tiems. Or maybe a more fun water side would make pouring sand in the water a bit less appealing. Thus, I wish I had chosen a different table. However, it does the job and my kids like it.

My 2 y.o. son uses only water on both sides b/c we aren't keen on sand. But he enjoys it immensely. Umbrella blocks sun well. Plus, for b/c it's a cart it's much easier for me to move it around (as opposed to a table you have to carry). And the lid really does stay on. So glad we purchased this one and not a standard table.

Right now we only have sand in the table on both sides because I didn't feel like dealing with mud caused by my 16 month old. She LOVES it and when it gets to the warmer months we will switch it over to all water. We put a fifty pound bag of sand in it and I honestly don't see why you would want less in there. The unbrella only stays in there on calm, non-windy days but living in the apartment complex here, all the kids come running to it. It's great, we all love it.

I bought this table for my 15 month old daughter that loves to play in the water. After doing a lot of research, we decided that this was the one since it has a cover for when it is not in use, wheels for easy transport and a sun shade. We plan on only using it for water play since mixing sand with water is just messy anyways. The water wheel is fun and can be removed when not in use. The table is very sturdy and doesn't move around when she climbs on it (like others we looked at). If you plan to put both sand AND water in, you might be disappointed in the size of the water area but if it's all water it's perfect!!!

We purchased this item from Toys R Us for our (almost) 2 year old daughter, who recently visited the beach and loved playing with the wet sand. We did not intend to purchase this particular table, but it was the only one the store had in stock. Although the water portion is small, my daughter still likes the water wheel and playing dumping the water into the sand part (and vice versa). Unlike reviews of other, similar products, I have had no problems with the drain plug (as long as it is not covered in sand). The lid has strong elastic ties to keep it down at night and in the wind. Best of all, this is a cart that can be moved wherever you need it to go. It is also not very large, so it can easily be stored in a garage or shed. That said, probably no more than two or three children can play at one time. Overall, this product was a good purchase for us, and I would recommend it to anyone.
