This is a great toy, but was a little difficult for my 4 yr old to peddle. It was hard to turn also, the stearing wheel doesnt turn it is the entire front end. Since Christmas it has sat in the garage.

My son, who just turned 4, is obsessed with tractors. It was the one recurring item that came up every time we asked what he would like for his birthday; he even wished for a tractor when tossing a penny into a fountain (little did he know that it was waiting for him in the living room at the time!).

My husband had little trouble putting this together (he borrowed a large wooden block for the pounding part) and we have not had any trouble with the adhesivity of the stickers or the functioning of the gas cap. The trailer that goes with this tractor is available here at Amazon, and we ordered it at the same time. Once the toggle that holds it in place was installed, it works very well.

My son is average to a bit taller than average for his age, and this tractor fits him well. We prefer a pedal model to an electric one, partly to prevent accidents, and mostly because he needs to work off energy!

We are very pleased with this toy, and I know my son will enjoy it for quite a long time.

This tractor is great for anyone between the ages of 3 (if they are tall enough) to 6. Big and sturdy - noticable to passing cars. Does not tip over very easily. Easy to assemble.
A nice solid toy for your little rough tough child.

My 3 year old son wanted a tractor & trailer for Christmas so my husband & I researched the market. We were really interested in the Peg Perego brand but after trying several out (the excavator & ranch master) they seemed difficult for my son to manuver and the quality of the plastic did not appear very sturdy. So, we found this Step 2 tractor and instantly knew this was the way to go. The tractor seems indestructable, it is very affordable (about 1/2 the cost of the Peg Perego brand and better quality)and very easy to ride! It has been a hit with our son and my 3 year old niece. I would definitely recommend this tractor to any parent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Gift with Mommy Annoyances, December 29, 2002

My 3 year old son recieved this tractor from Santa and my DS loves the tractor. Truly, I'd recommend this product for any 3-6 year old child.

I'm annoyed however for a couple of reasons, primarily as a result of the products quality and details. For instance, the decorative stickers have absolutely lost and/or never had any adhesiveness. The tractor has been out of the box 5 days now and the stickers don't stick. Basically, remember to bring on the super glue as you put this product together.

Another annoyance is the gas cap. The tractor is molded and cut for the gas cap to fit tight;however, the gas cap keeps popping off and is now broken. A 4" diameter hole sits in the side of this tractor just waiting for tiny toys to be dropped in and fished out.

This is not a complaint just something to keep in mind if you purchase this product. Putting the tractor together takes about 20 minutes. You need a block of wood and hammer to pound the wheels in place. DH and I didn't consider that fact when Santa called and we made quite a bit of noise.

We also purchased a trailer for the tractor and found the trailer literally within seconds of performing an Internet search. Attaching the trailer hitch required a 1/2" spade bit and a screw driver so tack on 10 or so additional minutes to put the trailer together.

Overall the product appears safe and stable. We've scrutinized the product and are satisfied outside the stickers and the gas cap.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very durable, December 7, 2004

I bought this for my son when he was 3 years old. He is now 8 and handed it down to my younger son when he turned 2. After 5 years of rough and tough riding it is just now starting to break down. This has been an awesome toy. We also purchased the trailer and the boys have loved them both. I think it would have lasted even longer if my 8 year old would have stayed off of it after he had outgrown it. Anyway the only thing you need to keep in mind is that there is no brake so be careful on hills.

We bought this tractor for our 2 and a half-year-old son, and he is able to pedal and manuever this vehicle very well, despite the recommended age of 3-6 years. This tractor is very sturdy, and nearly impossible to tip over. My son has deserted all other riding toys in favor of this tractor. I highly recommend purchasing the yellow trailer that is specifically made for this tractor, but is sold separately .... My son loads all kinds of treasures into the trailer and farms the yard for long periods of time....

Even at 29 months, he "reads" every tractor magazine and calendar he can find in Papa's stack, and knows tractors by name. To have his own tractor was a dream come true. This tractor is study and very comfortable for him to ride. He loves it.

Do not hesitate to buy this tractor.

I bought this tractor for my 3 years hold son. He is just in love with his tractor. He kisses the tractor and say " I love you green tractor".
The price with shipping charges was a bit expensive but my son is so happy that I forgot about the price.
This tractor seems also very safe. Nothing bad happen since we gave him. I'm not shure that I would recommend for children under 3. Because my son his 3 and he's bit short to join the pedal.

We bought this tractor to accompany the trailer. Our grandsons are big into farm stuff and love to load up the trailer and pretend they are working "on the farm." It is best for those old enough to reach the pedals (age 3 and up?). It is very sturdy and durable. Great toy for those busy toddlers and preschoolers. Worth every penny it cost!
