5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful and fun bed!!
We bought this bed for my 23 month old son and he LOVES it! I love the fact that it offers a little bit more security for my son so he can't fall out of the bed. Grant it this bed is a little bit more expensive the the other metal or wooden beds, but, to me it was and is well worth it. We spent a good 30 minutes or so in Toys R Us looking at all of the beds they had to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not so safe
I purchased this bed last December as a Christmas present for my 2 year old son. He loves to play in it but still prefers to sleep in his crib. Yesterday while playing in it, the bed completely fell apart and when I attempted to put it back together I realized that the necessary screws that hold the bed together weren't even long enough to attach the bed properly. I am...

My son not only sleeps in his put it keeps him occupied in his room as he climbs in and out of the windows. I love the little night light on top, it just sets it off real well. We did the 102 Dalmation theme in his room and it comes together wonderfully. If you have a little boy..I say go for this bed..you wont regret it.

We first purchased the race car bed, but found that our son could easily roll off the sides. We then purchased the fire truck bed and it has now gone through both of our sons. With the high sides, there is little fear of your child ever falling off the bed while sleeping. One warning: the night light on top goes through batteries very quickly, despite shutting itself off after 15 minutes. Ours eventually stopped working even with fresh batteries. I e-mailed the Step 2 company and they sent us a new one free of charge. Excellent Customer Service!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome BIG BOY bed! I LOVE this!, September 10, 2005

My 15 month old son is a climber. Leaving him in the crib made me uneasy, so I decided to buy a toddler bed for him. I did not want to bed a regular bed because of the typical 50 pound weight limit (at 15 months he's already over 30 lbs!). Between this and the car bed I decided to go with this one because of the high sides, the little step, and well, because it is so much cooler! The box this comes in is HUGE!!! And very HEAVY!!! I found this bed very easy to assemble. I put it together by myself in about an hour. It is very very sturdy. I climbed into it and it did not fall apart. My son slept through the night it this bed right away (though he will not nap in it), has not fallen out it, and can easily get in and out of it. I really like the light on top of the bed, and the bright colors. I love the tires which give it a really neat look. I wish I had had one of these when I was little! Even my 5 year old daughter loved it! A+++

I think this is a great bed!! When my son was old enough to move into a toddler bed this was the best choise. He never complained about getting into his bed - now 2 years later he still loves it and as much as he did when we first got it. I dont know how I am going to get him to move into a bigger bed when the time is ready. This bed is VERY durable, and I have never had any problems. The light is perfect because if my son gets scared at night he turns the light on without getting out of bed. I reccomend this product to every parent who does not want to spend a lot of money, but wants their child to remember there first bed when they get older!

We got this bed for our 19 month old son. He loves it. we are still in the transition phase from crip to bed, but between my 4 year old daughter and my son, the bed is the best thing since the lifestyle dream kitchen. my daughter wants to sleep with my son every night and is very envious of his cool bed. the sides were a huge seller. i was debating between this and the sports car, but the sides sold me. he definately loves being able to get out of his bed, without too much climbing. if you have a little boy, GET THIS BED!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool Bed, September 26, 2005

I got this bed for my 21 month old daughter this weekend. She loves it! She could not keep still as I assembled it for her. (It was a pain to get together, but worth it.) She has slept in it every night, and has even taken her naps in it! She usually only naps in mine and my husband's bed.

The bed is the perfect size for her. She is a tall child for her age, and has no problems fitting in it.

I'm very happy with my purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Toddler Bed Ever!, November 29, 2004

My son loves this bed! Of course at first it was difficult to get him to stay in it! Toddler's love freedom. But after a week of consistantly walking him back to bed and tucking him back in, he now goes to and stays in bed without any problems. He has never fallen out , and he is a wiggler! he constantly moves in his sleep. The high sides are a BIG plus. He loves to turn the light on before he goes to bed. My only complaint is that the batteries die very quickly, but with a 2 year old turning the light off and on 50 times a day, I guess that would do it! So if you have a little fire truck enthusiast, I highly recommend this bed.

I just picked up this bed today. I had looked at a few other options and went with the fire truck after reading everyone's wonderful reviews. My 2 year old son instanly fell in love with it. He's already climbed in through the window and over the top. My recommendation is to pick up a board support for a crib mattress. I know Toys R Us sells them because they sold one to me today. It cost like $20 and adds a great deal of support (I have a jumper). I don't seem to see any of the common problems among other plastic toddler beds. Go get it!

My son isn't quite old enough to sleep in this bed yet but we bought it because we were lucky enough to find it at a yard sale for a great price. When we got it, the "wheels" were missing so we called the company and they immediately sent out a new set very cheaply. They were very helpful and curteous.

Since he isn't old enough to sleep in it, we set it up without the base so the truck itself rests on the floor and he puts his toys in it and uses it as a play area. He just loves being able climb in and out on his own and the light on top fascinates him. As with all Step2 products, this bed is very sturdy and should last for years.

4.0 out of 5 stars this bed is a pretty good choice, April 15, 2004

This review is from: Fire Engine Toddler Bed (Toy)
We just bought this bed for our 2 year old, and I figured that I would lay on the floor beside the bed to get him to sleep the first coulple of nights. The only problem is that the sides are so high he can't see me. He keeps sitting up to make sure I'm still there. The other option is to cram myself into the bed with him. Thank goodness it is durable enough for me to do that. That is a small problem, and other than that I love this bed. He enjoys sleeping in it, and doesn't fall out(the reason the high sides are good). He is a rough and tumble little boy and I feel like this bed was a very secure choice for him. It will hold up great!
