My 20 month old daughter was riding this horse in our living room with my husband and I sitting within 4 feet of her. While she was rocking on the horse, it flipped over frontward. We had to take her to the hospital for stiches. She is 26 lbs so she meets the age and weight criteria from Step 2. She was not doing anything abnornmal on the horse and we were both observing her closely. (As new parents often do.) I feel that the rocking horse base is not long enough and would be risky for a child.

My parents bought this horse for my daughter the first week in October. Every two weeks for the past two and a half months emails have been sent from Amazon saying there is a shipping delay--but since the order has been processed there can be no refund. When we emailed amazon they sent back canned responses about shipping times and did not answer our questions. Finally, I called the toll free number (which is answered in India) and spoke with a man who told me that they could not get this product and to call back later and try and get a refund. There is no indication on the web page that this horse is not available

I ordered this horse directly from Step 2. It arrived one week later. Our 18-month-old daughter loves it and will rock until she's so relaxed she's falling asleep. She gets excited every morning when she sees the little pony. All in all, the pony is just the right size for her and is very durable. I highly recommend it.

We received this horse as a gift for my 1 year old daughter. She totally loved it and it was pretty safe for her until she was around 2 when she was stronger and it was tipping forward and backwards quite often. She is three now and still plays on it but knows how to rock on it so she doesn't get hurt. Not worth buying though since it is quite dangerous especially if anything is around when your child falls off.

My daughter is 2 & recieved this for Christmas. She loves it but it flips over WAY too easily. I was afraid she was going to have to go for stitches last night. Such a good sized horse should be somehow fitted to keep it from flipping over forward and backward. It's too dangerous as it is, and that is just with normal rocking use. I wish we'd never gotten it b/c she loves it, and I am going to have to get rid of it because she is really going to hurt herself. If they coud fix this issue I'd give it 4 stars easily. The safety issue is just too big to ignore!

I was a little disappointed when we took this toy out of the box. The manufacturer's description said "is a classic 'wooden rocking horse'". It is plastic. I went back and re-read the description and I guess I should have known that since "wooden rocking horse" IS in quotes, but I was in a rush when I ordered and I didn't catch on. Anyway, plastic aside, the picture online made is seem nicer looking than it actually was. I had purchased it for my daughter's first birthday and she loves it, so I guess that's all that matters. She especially loves the horsey noises it makes when she is riding it. This toy is certainly for an older child (my daughter is one), but we hold onto her and she laughs as she "rides".
