Fun Flow Sink

It is really unfortunate that there are issues with the pump on this toy. When it works correctly it is a lot of fun and the kids absolutely love it. The problem is after only one day the pump stopped working. Sometimes it makes a horrible screeching sound and nothing comes out. Other times it hums loudly and only a trickle comes out. Sometimes it works correctly. We've taken it apart countless times but can never seem to find the problem or fix it permanently. After doing some research I found problems with the pump are common. It's incredibly frustrating. If the pump wasn't defective I would give it 5 stars because the kids really do love it. They'll spend hours splashing around, giving their dolls baths, cooking, etc. Every kid who comes to our house always wants to play with it.

**Update** Spoke with Step 2 customer service and they were extremely helpful. They are shipping a replacement pump at no cost.

I've done a decent amount of research on water tables in the last few weeks because my daughter love to play with water. And this one ended up at the top of the list mainly because of the interactive factor--the flowing faucet and the various cups/toys that go with it. I've also been very impressed by the quality of the Step2 products that we have purchased in the past. But I wasn't sure about purchasing this sink initially because of some of the reviews about the pump and on/off button. Despite that, I purchased the product because there aren't comparable products, it won an award and we've had a great experience with Step2 products.

I'm very glad I purchased this sink. It's the perfect water toy for my 21-month-old daughter. Pump works well. Waterflow is good, just like in the photo in the ad. And the product is sturdy. My daughter enjoys this product very much. She plays with the cups and gives her plastic animals a bath in it. It's perfect on a hot summer day! I know that kids that come over for playdates will love this as well. It will be enjoyed for many years to come.

My only suggestions for future enhancements to the product are the addition of a drain and a quieter pump. But these are minor issues and do not detract from the entertainment and learning factors at all.

I did a lot of research on this toy and once we got it, we were thrilled. I didn't give it 4 stars because the pump getting wet through the top button is an issue. Little wet hands turn on and off the sink and the water seeps through the top into the battery chamber which stops the flow of the sink to a dribble. SOLUTION: We put PRESS-N-SEAL over the top and secured it with a rubber band. I have had it now a month and have now never had another issue (you do have replace the press-n-seal when it starts to come off.. but it lasted a few weeks for us. Toy runs a long time on the D batteries too. During the hot weather my boys (2 and 4) just love this and now we aren't wasting water. Make sure you don't allow sand or dirt in the sink! Have fun!

I was so excited about this toy-that is until we got it home. For the first few days it worked great. The motor in the pump was a little noisy, but nothing we couldn't handle. Then day four came and the pump started to get louder and louder until it made a horrible ear piercing shriek. It scared my son so badly that he will not go near the thing. I've read other reviews from people who've had the same problem. Stear clear of this thing unless you like to flush money down the toilet and possibly need to hire a shrink for your freaked out little kid!
