Not that sturdy but the kids have fun with it. The pieces won't stay where they belong but with small kids, I guess that is ok. Very colorful, makes fun noises.

Love this toy! Bought it for our 2 yr. old granddaughter. It is the first thing she runs to when she visits us, before she even gets her jacket off. The realistic sounds are great and it provides wonderful fine motor practice in moving the pieces to make it work. My only complaint is the ridiculous shipping to Alaska, more than the toy cost!! I had it sent to my dad for free and he mailed it to me for a third of what I would have been charged. A continual annoyance for those of us living "so far away". As for rating it as educational I don't think you can put a number of stars on the value of dramatic play but we'll go for 4 since it doesn't "teach colors/shapes/numbers etc."
