5.0 out of 5 stars Worth Every Penny! Great for Play and Pretend
My daughter received this as a gift for her first birthday. Initially, I thought she was too young but the purchase was right on the nose. In the beginning, she would just walk in and out the door and hide under the climbing ledge. It took until about 18 months before she could climb up on the ledge herself and go down the slide. At around age 2, she started climbing...

2.0 out of 5 stars Watch those Boo-boos!
I have to say that I thought this would be a wonderful toy for my 21 month old daughter. We bought it and I tried to put it together right away. It was not as easy as advertised. I had to practically slamm the pieces together with my feet. Well, Maddy woke up from her nap and we brought her outside to play on her new toy. She was delighted. She was able to pull herself up...

My daughter received this as a gift for her first birthday. Initially, I thought she was too young but the purchase was right on the nose. In the beginning, she would just walk in and out the door and hide under the climbing ledge. It took until about 18 months before she could climb up on the ledge herself and go down the slide. At around age 2, she started climbing up the outsides (there are little steps and footholds) & thought it was a total blast (even though it terrified us the first few times). Now, at 2 1/2, she uses it as a "pretend house" for her stuffed animals and baby dolls. She has been too tall for the doorway for quite a while but having to bend over hasn't slowed down her play. In fact, I think she likes it that this is a "kids only" play toy. We've always used this toy inside, first in our living room and now in the playroom. It is a great way to burn off energy during our long Minnesota winters! Definitely a must-have. We had no problems putting it together and it has stayed sturdy and safe even with all the time she's spent with it.

Our son is only 12 months and we have been searching for a climber that is appropriate for this age and one that will also entertain him months from now. This seems to fit into our category. We put it together without the platform and slide because we were worried he would fall off of the platform a lot while learning to climb up and down. He has been playing with the toy happily crawling through the holes and climbing in and out of the front. This is working great and we thought it would be a great tip for other parents. Not to mention the fact that just as he is getting bored - we'll put the slide up and it will be a brand new toy again. Hope you enjoy this as much as we do.

Some people have art in their living rooms, I have this climber. Hannah and her friends love it though, and they can play even if it is too hot/cold or raining. It has helped her coordination and it isn't so big that if they fall they get hurt seriously. She has had it almost a year and I can't see her outgrowing it anytime soon. A good value.

My husband and I bought this for our then 13 month old daughter for Christmas last year. She loved it then and still does now at almost 17 months. It is the perfect size to keep in the living room for the winter and will be easy to move outside now that it is warmer. She loves to go through the door and has a number of ways to climb to the platform, from climbing over the walls to walking up the slide. The few times she has fallen off were no big deal because the toy is not that far from the ground. I think this toy will be played with for several years to come. We looked at several brands and liked the looks of this one the best. The price was the clincher!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great toy, but difficult assembly!, January 15, 2001

My 20-month-old son's Grandmother bought this for him for Christmas. We waited until Christmas Eve to put it together. The assembly instructions are very simple. However, when one of the walls still would not snap together after I put all my weight on it, we discovered that the holes that were supposed to be pre-drilled were not there! We had to take it out to the garage and drill the holes. Then it went together easily. We also could have saved ourselves some work if we had drilled the rest of the holes just a little wider, too: it took a LOT of force to pop the walls in place.

However, this is a GREAT TOY. Our son lags behind a bit in gross motor skills and this is just the right size to give him a challenge without overwhelming him. We have seen tremendous improvement in him in just a few weeks. At first he couldn't do anything with it, now he goes through the door, climbs up onto the platform, and goes down the slide. We feel that the design is very safe. The platform gives plenty of room to turn around or settle into a sitting position to go down the slide. The arch over the slide gives him something secure to hold onto until he's ready to slide down. We have a medium-sized livingroom, and were able to set it up in a corner. As a bonus, our cats chase each other through it after our son is in bed!

We bought this climber over a year ago and my 2 1/2 year old boy still loves it. It is very durable and we haven't had any problems with it. He loves climbing up the sides now.

This climber is great! I originally had it in a playroom when my son was a little younger (he's almost 2 now) and now it's in the backyard....He loves opening and closing the door and the height of the slide makes it "easy" for them to climb up and let's us parents not get too nervous watching.. :-) I HIGHLY recommend this product!!

We bought this toy for our daughter over a year ago, just before her first birthday, she still loves it! We call it her house, she "builds" it and loves to make tents and "hiding places" in it! The only downfall to the climber is that the platform for the slide is short and when she gets really excited or forgets where she is, she has fallen off backwards. The overall size is great and can fit into playrooms, so kids can climb all year! We defintiely recommend this toy, just be ready to soothe some tears if the child falls off, our daughter would go right back to the climber and play some more!

We got this climber when our daughter was 15 months old, which is a little early. We had trouble putting it together -- the holes where it pops together were too small, but called the manufacturer and they had us use a potato peeler (!) to widen them -- now it's fine! But we took it down after a month or two because she had fallen way too many times, though she's a great climber. She would just STEP right off the platform into thin air! We're looking forward to setting it up again, though, as I'm sure she's ready now (at 22 months).

We bought this toy for our 16 month old daughter for Christmas. The look on her face the minute she saw it made it all worth while. She loves to climb up the slide and go back down again. She crawls through the holes and opens and shuts the door. We keep it inside so she can play with it anytime. The only complaint I have about this toy is when we put it together, the holes were partially blocked by plastic. We had to cut out the plastic bit, then all the parts fit. My daughter has fallen off it a few times, but she laughs and gets right back up. This is a great toy!
