Editorial Reviews

Product Description
One Step Beyond, the classic TV series of 1959, premiered nine months before another spooky, and perhaps more well known television show revolving around the paranormal: the Twilight Zone. Both shows featured hosts, were centered on the supernatural, and superbly evoked a spine-chilling experience for the viewer. But one immense distinction sets One Step Beyond apart from its successor: the episodes are true stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good, Old-fashioned Ghosts!, May 1, 2005
These television morality tales of poltergeists, teletransportation and audio hauntings remind me very much of the best mystery-radio shows like "Lights Our" and "The Wierd Circle."

All 3 episodes are very watchable, with characters a little more complex than the better-known "Twilight Zone" offered.

The best one, "The Affair," takes place in England and concerns a doomed wedding chilled by the spector of WWII, madness and murder.

Good, uld-fashioned ghost stories the entire family can enjoy.

"Anniversary of a Murder" is the second-best entry, marked my unexpectedly terrific acting.

The last episode, "The Airialist" is slightly marred by Mike Connors (of "Mannix" fame) hamming it up as a tortured circus performer, but the script delivers a a potent melancholy.
