Another 10 Star CD by those Lonesome River Giants!,
This review is from: One Step Forward (Audio CD)
I picked up this CD recently because I found LRB's latest CD "Talking to Myself" to be the best CD I've ever bought. This CD is no exception. The choice of songs on this CD is once again flawless. The old and the new blend together with this young band who holds on tight to bluegrass tradition in a way that would be appealing to those non-bluegrass lovers. Kenny Smith is absolutely the best I've ever heard on guitar; Don Rigsby is a mandolin genius (think I've said that before); Ronnie Bowman shines as does Sammy Shelor. Combine this talent with guests Aubrey Haynie on Fiddle, Randy Howard on Fiddle and Jerry Douglas on Dobro, you'd be hard pressed to find more talent doing a better job! I personally can't find anything wrong with any of the music I've listened to by this band. Outstanding cuts on this CD include When You Go Walking, Say I Do, Sorry County Blues, Thank God for a Mama, Carolyn the Teenage Queen, Katy Daley...on and on and on! You will not be disappointed with this CD!
