Exactly what the title says
This book is essential to the concepts of SAS. It is great for the beginner or the more advanced. Would recommend to anyone seeking information on programming in SAS

Mediocre SAS Reference
This book is not worthless, but it's not particularly full of information either. I am probably not the best reviewer of SAS books because I am not very experienced with SAS. Nevertheless, my impression of the book is that while it is well organized and easy to navigate, it does not have the content to do even slightly more sophisticated programming than the bare basics.
