I purchased this CD for the song "Step It Up." The theme for Girl Scout cookie sales this year is "Step It Up." The song has a great beat and the girls enjoyed dancing to it. The rest of the CD is instrumental. It's a great CD to listen to while unwinding or cleaning the house!

I loved this album. Strangely enough I was introduced to the title song by Gray's Anatomy where I just had to find out who was singing that lead (Alice Russell). The rest of the album is like the R& B music I grew up with. Definitely worth a listen.

Big band funk lives. Tighter than Breakestra. For the ultimate, listen to Keb Darge Presents the New Mastersounds. To get back to the roots of this sound, get Tower of Power's (1) East Bay Grease and (2) Back to Oakland.

this stuff is funky. This has a classic sound that is very upbeat. You won't be able to help from shaking your money maker to this. And while you're at it, check out Sharon Jones as well. I'm out.

I never heard of the Bamboos. But I got a taste of them ofrom Pandora Radio. It is good to know that music like this still being recorded. I can't get enough of this stuff. "Tighten Up' is so tight. What a great sound.

As a funk enthusiast, I was completely satisfied with this album. The recordings manage to capture a live feel. Alice Russel's vocals on "Step It Up" are among the highlights. Fans of Breakestra will probably find that this suits their musical tastes.
