I just wanted to put a short note here letting readers know that this book is very helpful for someone contemplating quitting drinking or other substances. It explains treatment options and the option of not getting treatment.
The authors seem to really understand what a person at this stage is thinking.
Also want to note there is much help online. It seems the Internet is one of the few places people who eschew 12-step dogma can find help.
