4.0 out of 5 stars Great Product For Limited Space In Your Home...
Okay...I am a mother of six. I purchased this product at Toys R Us but ended up returning it. I got this for my 16 mth old who LOVED THE KITCHEN...it was very durable and cute as can be and great quality but I felt for the money it was kinda boring. She liked playing with the phone that came with it and opening the drawers...but I was looking for one that was a little...

2.0 out of 5 stars Very small
I was very disappointed after putting this toy together. It is very small. My 1 and 2 year old are in the 5th percentile and even they look giant next to this thing. The kids in the picture look much taller then my children so I think that pic is very misleading. I would not recommend this kitchen.

Okay...I am a mother of six. I purchased this product at Toys R Us but ended up returning it. I got this for my 16 mth old who LOVED THE KITCHEN...it was very durable and cute as can be and great quality but I felt for the money it was kinda boring. She liked playing with the phone that came with it and opening the drawers...but I was looking for one that was a little more interactive. The only sound this kitchen makes besides beeping noises on the battery operated phone is the stove made a bubbling or sizzling noise when you put the pots and pans on it. I took it back to Toys R Us and they ended up having a 20% coupon for any one item in the store so I got her the Step 2 DELUXE kitchen. It is a bit larger but has so many more features...the microwave, stove, oven, dishwasher, and telephone make noise...and it has a little light above the stove that turns on and off and even has the option of using an adaptor for the light instead of batteries. I felt for the extra money this would bring her many more years of enjoyment. In short...if you do not care about all the extra features than go for this item...it really is a cute little kitchen...otherwise I would recommend the Deluxe or even the Dream Kitchen which has all the features as the deluxe minus the dishwasher.

My 4yr old got this from grandma for his birthday. He loves it!!! He has played non stop since I put it together. It was a little tricky putting it together and it did take some time. But it is WORTH it.. My 10 yr old also has had fun playing with it as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Kitchen and Excellent Value, April 3, 2008

I bought this kitchen for my four year old daughter last year. I looked at many kitchens before purchasing this one. I wanted a sturdy plastic kitchen that was full-size and that had a refrigerator, drawers, and stove. This one fit the bill and was $100 less than very similar ones.

My daughter very much enjoys playing with this. She's played with it regularly since we purchased it. She makes all sorts of meals and serves them to both my husband and me. It comes with some flatware, dishes and cups. I don't remember if it came with any food, but we've bought a few sets of food since. So, with the food we purchased, she makes pizza, cuts vegetables and fruits, serves sushi, cakes, etc. Sometimes she "makes" some very weird combinations, but has a grand time doing it!

One reviewer expressed displeasure with this purchase and expressed his fear of the kitchen tipping over on his child. I used to have a similar kitchen when my older daughter was much younger. We put that one in a carpeted room and it's true-- it was unstable even though that kitchen was considered high quality. This one, however, we have in our own kitchen and it's very stable on our hard floor. I'd recommend putting these things on tile or wood rather than carpet for that very reason. The counters and main structure is made of very sturdy plastic. The refrigerator, oven, and microwave doors are made of the thinner, less sturdy plastic.

All in all, although my husband wishes we could get rid of it already, my daughter likes this still. She definitely goes over to it at least once per day, usually more, and plays around with some part of it every day whether the pots and pans, foods, or phone.

I purchased this kitchen at walmart, only paid $80.00 and that is more then I think it is worth. My husband put it together on Christmas eve, and after building the whole kitchen, we realized it had no decals...Had to still give it to my 21 month old son, and now I am waiting on the decals to come. The quality is really not that good. The faucet does not stay in that well, and the burner doesn't either. When the drawers come out my son can't put them back in, and when he leans on the kitchen it is like the whole kitcehn is going to fall on him. It is just barley big enough for him to play by himself, and now that we know that there is a nother baby on the way, we wonder if we should have just spent the extra money and bought the walk through one.

Pros:
1. My son likes playing with the burner cause it makes noise
2. It is his height, so h can reach everything
3. There is enough storage space to store the extra food we bought for it

Cons:

1. Poorly constructed
2. Expensive for what you get
3. Not interactive enough

All in all I would say you should spend the extra money and get a bigger kitchen!

5.0 out of 5 stars We LOVE this kitchen, August 1, 2008
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars

After much research, we recently gave this kitchen to our 2-year-old son, and we all LOVE it. It has already generated hours and hours of fun.

This product comes with the following extras: two bowls, two plates, two spoons, two knives, two special pans with lids (one sizzles, one boils- even making the sound of water hitting the burner!), two cups, one phone (which also generates sound), and salt & pepper shakers. (You will need to buy food.)

We chose this product for a number of reasons:
- It provides just the right amount of sounds. We wanted to have some sound effects, but not so many that it inhibited creativity. This has the perfect combo.

- The doors to the appliances open like real appliances-- unlike other toy kitchen sets we looked at.

- It is sturdy and a good height. He won't outgrow it for a while.

- There is plenty of storage space (three drawers and a cabinet- plus the refrigerator and stove), good counter space, and the cutest little dish shelf. Other kitchen sets offered extras such as dishwashers, but nothing in this range offered the same amount of counter and storage space. It really helps make it feel like a real kitchen.

The only cons:

- I wish it had a full-sized refrigerator, but most kitchen sets don't. And I knew that when I bought it, so I can't really complain!

- The "magic" burner which generates the sounds doesn't sit quite level. But it doesn't inhibit play, and our son hasn't noticed at all.

It did take my husband about an hour to put it together (with stickers), but he actually said he enjoyed putting this toy together.

All in all, we are thrilled with this kitchen set and know we made the right decision. It was well worth the money to hear my son yell while he is cooking, "I did it!" You can't go wrong with this kitchen!

NOTE: Check other websites. It may be cheaper elsewhere (i.e., Walmart- and with ship to store, there is not shipping cost).

3.0 out of 5 stars Assembly from hell!, October 24, 2009

Bought the toy for my daughter's 3rd birthday which is not until Dec. 6th. But I got so excited that i decided to put it up now. it wasn't the most pleasant experience. Albeit the instruction sheet indicates assembly needs power drill, i thought I wouldn't mind putting in some extra muscle into the job and just use an ordinary screw driver. I was prepared to manually put the screws in when I found out that there are NO HOLES in some areas the screws should go. And in rare instances that Step 2 remembered to drill some holes, they are not aligned!

If not for the missing and misaligned holes, assembly would be quick, easy and the instructions are clear.

my daugther hasn't played w/ it yet because i decided to wait until I borrow my friends power tool so i just rated fun factor 4 stars.

also, this is really minor and i don't mind. some
parts are scratched.although i don't think my daughter would mind.

First of all, let me say that this kitchen is TINY. It is far too small for my children to play on together and almost too short for my two year old. The pictures are so deceiving. Nothing fits in any of the tiny storage spaces. It just frustrates them. Second, it's a pain to put together. There is no reason the company could not have assembled things like the white pillars in the front on for you. Instead, they expect you to screw in six screws. And you have to use a manual screwdriver, or risk the screws going through the plastic. It's also pretty flimsy. If you want a larger, durable kitchen, don't waste your money on this one!

I've been researching alot of different kitchens for my 3 year old twin boys and finally settled on this one because of the sounds and the multiple compartments that open and close. My boys love transferring items here and there so they really enjoy all the drawers and appliances this kitchen offers!! When they saw it all set up in their play area today, they went straight over to it and stayed there for over an hour!! They are such boys because when they got tired of playing with food items, they started lining up their toy cars and helicopters on the shelf and they had alot of fun putting their vehicles in and out of the fridge and microwave! Of course they would never do this with real appliances...

When I initially saw the demo unit at the store, I almost didn't buy the thing because I thought the fridge, stove, and esp. the microwave was TINY!! But my son started playing with a floor model and he loved it and didn't seem to have any problem with the size of the compartments. There's actually more space behind the doors than I anticipated! That's another thing that I like, there is a LOT of storage space! Enough to hold all the extra food that we already had lying around the house. I do wish there was a bit more counter space though.

Assembly wasn't bad...things were put together quite easily (i do highly recommend a power drill) and I was thrilled that all the appliance doors were already on from the manufacturer! I know my boys are going to get endless hours of entertainment out of this toy!! I highly recommend it!!

I am somewhat upset with the misleading picture of the kitchen. The white panels that border the bottom did not come with the white pieces to cover the six screws. Also they portrayed the remotes for the stove microwave and phone to be digital. They do not come close to the picture or even have a sticker that would make them appear digital. Overall my niece will still have a lot of fun, but I am displeased when I am mislead.
