I noticed that this ladybug sand box only had 3&1/2 stars and the others all had 5. I felt a need to speak up. We bought this sandbox for our first son when he was three. We lived in an apartment with a small back patio. It was perfect, not too big but still room for a toddler or two to sit in it and play. He played for hours!! Now 5 years later, his little brother loves it and my first son, almost 9, still plays with the little one in it. It still looks brand new, nestled under the tree in our big back yard. It's really great just smaller than the others. We have since given this for every two year old birthday present we've bought! I highly recommend it!

We have had this sandbox for five years. It has been durable and my two kids ages 3 and 5 just love it. Color of the plastic is still bright and has been under sun for years. Sometimes water seeps in when it rains but this makes sand play even funner for kids. We tend to put a rock on top of lid to keep it in place though it does cover the box perfectly. It is also nice that the lid is attached to the box itself and is easy for kids to remove and put back on when done. The kids usually sit outside of it though it can accomodate 1-2 small kids inside it as well. I find most kids dont want to get sand all over and end up sitting outside of it regardless. Overall good investment and the kids love it.

We got this for our son when he was 18 months old and it was the perfect size for him. He absolutely loved this sandbox (using the ladybugs head as a seat) He never got bored of it and still used it two years later. It is VERY durable and after two years of use looks brand new after spraying it down with a hose. Some of these sand boxes are so big and hard to move (to mow or keep your grass from dying)But this is the perfect size. A bigger kid couldn't sit in it very comfortably but could still have just as much fun sitting beside it to play with the sand.

This is the perfect size for us. It fits nicely on our front porch and it is just right for my 14 month old. The lid stays on well. my daughter sits in it and my son sits next to it. They play in it everyday!! It has been great as far as occupying them both!! And it's so cute. It is one of the few sandboxes that are not green. We love it!!

I just bought this sandbox off of a seller on Craigslist for my 2 1/2 year old daughter. I am amazed by how good it looks for being a used sandbox. There is no fading at all which is one of the reasons I chose to purchase the Step 2 brand versus the popular turtle sandbox from Little Tikes (which does show a lot of fading after being outdoors). I really like that there is a lid, however I wonder how well the lid is going to stay put in the colder months since we have a lot of wind and rain here. My one & only complaint would be the size. I knew it was going to be small when I decided to purchase it (I read reviews on it before I bought it), however I was still a bit surprised when I went to pick it up and saw how tiny it actually was in person. My 2 1/2 year old is very tall for her age and there is no way she can fit inside the sandbox. We've had it for about a week and she plays with it every day, but she sits on the ground and reaches into it. I don't really mind that she can't sit inside the sandbox because then I don't have to clean as much sand off of my toddler! My 10 & 7 year old children have also been enjoying the sandbox. My 3 kids just plop down on the patio and play with it together. I would definitely recommend this sandbox, however if you have an older child (over the age of 3) then I would suggest buying a larger sandbox.

This sandbox is a little small. It's perfect for one child but not two as some of the reviews said. My one-year-old daughter had a friend over and the two of them could barely fit in there together with a few toys. The worst part of this sandbox is the top. Since it is attached it is awkward and in the way when the sandbox is open. Also, it would be nice if it was a tight fitting top. Instead the top just sits on top of the box. Unfortunately it is loose enough that the neighborhood cats can just push it off if they want. You need to put something heavy on top if you want to avoid unwanted visitors. But despite all that, it is a nice little sandbox that my daughter enjoys. It serves the purpose that it was purchased for.

This sandbox is great, and my toddler loves it; but beware: shipping costs vary GREATLY, so check first before ordering. It's the perfect sandbox for a smaller yard. It's sturdy and the lid fit great and is strong enough for a child to climb over it!

I was quite please when we received this sandbox. Although it was a little smaller than I expected, it is the perfect size for my two girls. They can reach all of the sand without getting inside it, which is important for the sand in the diaper factor. I do have to say, however, that while the lid does have a strap to keep it connected to the base, the wind just blows it right off. I have to keep a large rock or a log on top during storms or windy days. Overall, a great sandbox!

We bought this for our 11 month old. She is using it as a pool right now. it is the perfect size to fill and dump so we don't attract mosquitos. She absolutely loves it! It is very durable and the color is holding up to the Florida sun.

This is a nice sandbox, but it is a little small like other reviewers have pointed out. My 2 year old daughter and her few toys pretty much fill it up. Good for 1 or 2 small children. If she has a friend over one of them usually sits outside the box.
