We planned to put this cottage out in the backyard but once it came, I immediately put it together in our living room. Right now, it's in the house but once the weather is nicer (tons of rain right now!), we plan to put it out back. It has a working doorbell which my son thinks is great & it comes with a little phone. He walks around talking on it all of the time! He loves sitting on the seat next to the "sink". He sits there to eat his afternoon snack! Great product! had the best price, too. We saw the same one at but the shipping was horrendous (the store didn't carry it & we couldn't get it shipped to the store).

I comparison shopped and this cottage appeared to be the best deal for its brand and size. My kids LOVE it! It's not an overwhelming size, we keep ours in the house, but it's not too small for multiple children to play in (a common complaint about other cottages if you look at different reviews) - my 2 toddlers spend hours in there: cooking, playing with stuffed animals, "sleeping," playing store, cleaning it up, I could go on and on. They love the little working doorbell, the mailslot, the working shutters and door, the little kitchen with "stools" on either side, and the phone. They are in toddler heaven! And they can still easily play in it when they have 1 or 2 other little toddler friends over to play. This was the best $175 we ever spent!

Let me first state that I am a 49 yr old woman with no super powers. I saw this house while looking for a playhouse for my 2 and 1/2 yr old granddaughter and read many of the reviews. Thought that this house would fit the bill for size (I wanted to put it on my deck) and price. Many of the reviewers were woman who described the assembly as being difficult and time consuming. I am sure many people read these reviews and think that this product is not for them. That's too bad.
It took me two, count them, two different screwdrivers (and I needed a smaller screwdriver only to open the doorbell housing) and about an hour to assembly this house by myself. I didn't have to pre-drill holds in the molded plastic. You just have to use some effort when turning the screws. They will pierce and catch in the plastic like they are designed to do. As for a few comments saying that it is too small and deceiving, the measurements are right there in front of you. It does have a single panel of plastic for the roof which I thought was smart design because it lets some light through. The little seats are molded into the corners of one side with the blue table in the middle. The phone is lame but my granddaughter had a ball calling me while I was assembling the house. Oh, yeah...did I mention that it took and hour and I was assisted by the 2 yr old? Not, nearly as bad as some make it out to be. Follow the directions and you will do fine. If I can do it so can you!

My daughter is always trying to shove my husband and me in this playhouse so I can speak from experience-it's definitely roomy (even my husband fits, albeit uncomfortably.) I LOVE the fact that it has a floor, as when I was deciding on one it seems most don't. It's cute and has nice features like the ringing doorbell and beeping phone. I put it together myself in less than an hour and it was easy. My daughter played inside it all the time indoors, but since we've moved it outdoors she's not very interested in it anymore. Since that depends on the kid, though, I definitely recommend this playhouse.

I bought this playhouse for our grandchildren ages 19 months, and five months old. I know my five month old can't use it yet, but she and her mom can sit inside for her to touch and look at it. She loves to grab things.

My grandson likes to play with the faucet, climb on the attached seats, and phone. Right now, I think that he needs to get a little older for it to hold his attention longer. I placed it outside along with his other playground toys. He loves the outside, so staying in one place too long, unless its something he wants to do, doesn't work for him.

The house is a good size, depending on the height of a child. My grandson has plenty of space to stand and walk around in. I plan to put other items in the house for fun time. I also have colored mats for a cushion feel for the floor. My daughter who is 5'2 sat on the seat and floor with her son inside. Of course she can't stand up in it. The phone could ring a little louder and the doorbell volume is perfect. I decided to tape the doorbell on the house, as to remove it after play. This way if it rains, the doorbell or phone won't be ruined during tough weather conditions. The table as some have said is flimsy. For the price, some of the plastic molding could be stronger in some areas.

I keep the house on our patio for extra support. Actually, it was quite easy to put together, and it didn't take my husband and son a long time. As far as fading possibilities, it hasn't been outside long enough to notice any difference. Also make sure if you plan to place it outside, that it can fit through the door. If its put together first without measuring, you'll have to take a part of it off and finish outside. After all and said, this house is really cute.
