We are very happy with this playground piece.

The interior space is the best part for them, it's like a little clubhouse for them and it comes with a little steering wheel too.

I'm not really sure what else he can do with this climber though besides what I just mentioned.

Although I personally have a few issues with the Clubhouse Climber, my 2-year-old twins love this playset, so I suppose that's the bottom line.

My issues are as follows:
1. The instructions are in black-and-white/grayscale. There are many parts to this thing and almost all of them have a different color, which leads to some confusion.

2. The instructions were loose-leaf and need to be stapled together in a booklet. There are over 60 steps and a lot of pages, so confusion and losing one's place is really easy. Seriously, I know the economy is crappy, but can't you splurge a little and invest in some staples? Your customers will love you for it. (Of course, it could be that mine was the only one ever produced without stapled directions. Who knows?)

3. Most of the parts are blow-molded plastic. Not a problem. However, it is a relatively thin plastic, given its purpose. I'm particularly concerned with how much give is in the steps. My 27 lb. son makes it bow a little when he jumps up and down on it.

These issues were mainly dealing with assembly, obviously. Now that the thing is assembled and the kids are playing on it, though, these problems are gradually fading from my memory. Now, when we take the twins out in the backyard, the first thing they yell for is their "house," and they bolt toward it, bypassing all the other toys. This was definitely a worthwhile investment, despite all the cursing that went into assembling it. :)

We bought this climber for our son's first birthday. We knew that he was too young for it, but wanted a climber that he could "grow into" and knew it would be years before he is ready for a wooden one. At first, we had to be very careful of him falling out of the sides of the bridge or just walking straight down the slide. Now, at 16 months, he climbs the stairs on his own and goes down both slides alone. We are always there just incase he tips over. He really enjoys turning the wheel inside and playing peek-a-boo through the windows. I'm not really sure what else he can do with this climber though besides what I just mentioned. We are happy with this climber and it doesn't look too tacky in the backyard - colors are nice.I still think that it was overpriced ($550) and I don't think it is worth that much. If they lower the price or you can get it on sale, I say go for it!

UPDATE: Two years later... I trying to sell this thing. We still only steer the wheel and play peek-a-boo. We have added a game of pretending its a rocket ship or a train but I really think a structure with more climbing options would have been a better purchase for the price.

DISCLAIMER - I'm not great at reviews, so this might be a bit all over the place...

Bought this while my twin girls were about 1.5 yrs old. In the beginning they loved it, then a few weeks later they lost interest, then a few weeks later they were in love with it again. We've had it for about 6 months now and they are on this thing every single time we go outside. We bought this mainly b/c it had a big interior space as well as 2 slides (so they didn't fight over one).

The stairs are very easy to climb and wide which makes it easy for a child to climb up even if another child is sitting on a step ;-) The handles at the top of the stairs are GREAT!

I agree that the slides are a bit short, but my girls STILL love them. Also now that they are a little taller they enjoy gripping onto the handles above the slide and trying to hang and swing :-)

The interior space is the best part for them, it's like a little clubhouse for them and it comes with a little steering wheel too. The port windows are LOTS of fun when we play peek a boo or if we want to catch a glimpse of them or if they want to look out and see us.

I love the covered areas since the TX summers can be pretty brutal but the inside is never TOO HOT, it gets good airflow. We are in a new home and have NO trees on our property yet, so the slides do get hot in the afternoons with the sun beating down but we don't go out then since it's the hottest time of the day. They cool down very quickly with a little water.

The twins have JUST discovered the bottom tunnel area. Our dogs like to hang out there most of the time :-) .

We have this on our grass and the grass under the tunnel is green and has been doing great the 6 months we've had this.

There is a lot of flex in the plastic, even from the weight of a 2-year-old. The slides are short and seem only mildly entertaining to the tots. They'll play on it for about 10 minutes at the most, even though it's brand new to them.

Setup is easy, but time consuming. Haven't had it long enough to rate its durability.

Compared to similar items constructed of wood, though, it's hard to beat the price.

We bought this for my son's 2nd Birthday... I would recommend lots of patience while assembling it. The holes you must screw into are not pre-drilled, so you are having to hand turn a 4 inch long screw into plastic that isn't started. Plus, the instructions that came with ours were completely out of order, so I just went online and printed a better version. Those are my only cons. My son enjoys playing on it very much & it is good quality for this price, which is a lot less than most retailers because of the shipping. All in all, very pleased with our purchase.
