Perfect little product
This seems to be a good example of a product that is simple, well designed, and just works. For the size, it's quite loud (has two volume levels). It has a button on the top that you press to "reset" it after it has been activated when the mail comes. The sensor is small and unobtrusive. It just works.

Poor reliability
I purchased this unit from ACE Hardware and installed it in the Spring of 2010. It seems to have been working properly until about 10 months passed. The base unit fails to reset and the red LED continues to blink. I changed all of the batteries and this did not fix the problem. A call to the manufacturer was made and they no longer manufacture this item.

This product worked well for a time, but then became really unreliable. Sometimes never chimes, sometimes just continues to blink no matter how many batteries I change. Not recommended.
